Arcteryx
I'm looking at adding an aftermarket cat to my midpipe, which is currently catless - partly because I want to make my exhaust quieter, and partly because I don't want to be running completely catless (which I will be once I replace my uppipe). I was looking at the Vibrant high-flow cats, and they offer both OBD1 and OBD2 cats in both metal and ceramic, e.g.: http://vibrantperformance.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=1022_1063_1111&products_id=857 vs. http://vibrantperformance.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=1022_1063_1326&products_id=2071 or: http://vibrantperformance.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=1022_1063_1327&products_id=2073 Is there any reason to get an OBD2 cat for a midpipe, given that there's no sensor there anyway? They are significantly more expensive.
Brian3676
It's all about emissions. If your just going for making it less noisy why don't you put in a resonator? Also, something of note, I'm not sure how far before it effects performance, but cats work off of heat, so if there too far away from the engine/turbo, they will not work as efficiently. Arcteryx
I'm concerned with both emissions and noise, so I figure kill two birds with one stone.
