johnnyringo
Hi guys, Bit of a strange one my 92 legacy is turning itself on when the key isnt even in the ignition. Engine doesnt try and start when this happens but dash lights/headlights and heater comes on. Can anyone kindly give me some ideas of where to start looking? At the moment I have to disconnect battery after using the car or it turns itself on and runs down. When I connect the battery and start car I get a loud clicking noise and electrics die. I have to disconnect/reconnect battery then try again, eventually it starts. Maybe a short circuit somewhere? Battery terminals are recently cleaned btw. Thanks for any help,
mnstrmech
ignition switch. NOT ignition cylinder. Cylinder TURNS the switch, so the switch is located in the steering column. http://www.stockwiseauto.com/product_info.php/products_id/205227/fit_id/7888/Year/1993/Make/Subaru/Model/Legacy/source/googleps?gclid=CjgKEAjwt4-dBRCDnaTUn-mC_0oSJAC4Q6kGFKd7jSojntq3CawHw-K5I1VPWcz_Bcee3mK6-ZCzM_D_BwE
johnnyringo
Thanks mnstrmech, may have found a couple of problem areas. Meter fuse and clock/radio fuse are showing up with a test light so will sort this before moving on just incase its related.
