spazlamhaslam Posted June 11, 2014 Share Posted June 11, 2014 Hey guys, I know that some of these Legacys are notorious for burning up valves or having turbo issues that tear up your insides or even the occasional head gasket leak. So I have been thinking, when one of those things happens to me, will I be ready? So I have decided that I want to make a parts plan for when I have to yank my engine to do some work, the only problem is that I have no idea what I should do! I would like to keep all parts and labor under $5000 so I don't plan on going too crazy with parts, but I am thinking some higher compression pistons(my car is CNG so that is my reasoning for that), some good strong valves that will hold up to less lubrication and Higher heat, and head gaskets. But what about bearings or other things like that? What else should I think about doing to avoid having to pull my engine again for a good long time, because really what I'm going for is reliability. What would be the best parts for my list(part number included if possible)? Keep in mind that my car runs on CNG so I may want to go with different internals but really I'm not sure if that really matters too much. Let me know if you have any suggestions. Thanks Guys!
