HELP! 3.0R Track Day Computer Flash

That is a really, really cool project. I hope I'm not too late to the party...

 

I've done a bunch of stuff to get more power from my car with the stock ECU. All of the emissions stuff in the ECU is easy to modify, so I wouldn't worry about that at all. If you can find a Subaru owner in your area who does their own tuning I suspect they'd be happy to defeat the check-engine-light codes for free as that only takes minutes.

 

If you want someone to tune the engines for power, that'll cost some money since it takes time, but I bet it would cost a LOT less to have the stock ECUs tweaked than to use a standalone.

 

I haven't touched the immobilizer stuff, however I think it would be pretty straightforward to get an ECU + immobilizer + key for each motor, and just secure the key to the chassis right next to the immobilizer. Then you'd be free to wire up whatever ignition switch setup you want.
