05_Sport
Can anyone with an 06 Legacy Limited verify that the 6 disk changer has an aux in on the back of the head unit? I'm on the fence whether to buy on 05 leftover or an 06, and this may be a reason to go with the 06. I know for a fact the 05 does not have one. Thanks! 05_Sport
I did search... couldn't find any info specific to the 2006 model year, just 2005. I read somewhere that Subaru was going to add an aux in for 2006. Just wanted to know for sure.... http://legacygt.com/forums/skynetim/misc/find.gif http://legacygt.com/forums/skynetim/misc/find.gif http://legacygt.com/forums/skynetim/misc/find.gif http://legacygt.com/forums/skynetim/misc/find.gif http://legacygt.com/forums/skynetim/misc/find.gif http://legacygt.com/forums/skynetim/misc/find.gif http://legacygt.com/forums/skynetim/misc/find.gif http://legacygt.com/forums/skynetim/misc/find.gif http://legacygt.com/forums/skynetim/misc/find.gif http://legacygt.com/forums/skynetim/misc/find.gif
SVXWRX
I bought the more expensive one for the gold connectors and the gold-plated plugs. i don't think gold connectors will overcome the crappy sound quality of an FM transmitter. the factory stereo was a big hangup for me as far as buyin the LGT - i was leaning towards the STi because of it, but i'm so glad i got the LGT instead. there are two solutions: -use the JL Audio Cleansweep to add an aux input (and "fix" the sound of the stock stereo) -buy an aftermarket stereo, the required wiring harnesses, and the AVO DIN adapter i went the second route. i got a stereo with two AUX inputs. i ran the front speaker outputs of the stock stereo into a lineout converter and into the new head unit. the other AUX input has a cable running to it from the center console (drill a hole in the bottom of the storage compartment, install a grommet). i have this connected to a portable MP3 player. could also use a Sat radio tuner, etc. for about $600, i have an MP3 CD packed full of my favorite driving tunes in the aftermaket stereo, 6 CD's in the factory stereo, and 40Gb of MP3's in the portable. i was also able to add my powered sub box using the sub output of the aftermarket stereo and control the gain from the headunit. a good quality unit will also give you high and low pass filters, EQ, wireless remote, and other features you just won't get from the stock stereo. i was concerned about appearance, and the unit i got looks stock - if you shop around you can find something that matches, or ones with adjustable colors. here's a pic (the display in real life is the same whitish-blue color as the factory stereo / climate control displays, but doesn't look that way when photographed). it takes a little work, but its worth it. http://www.subaru-svx.net/photos/files/Landshark/28299.JPG
