Oil pan sealant?

Recommended Posts

as new stock rubber gasket should be enough. If you want something extra, you can use the gasket maker.

If you go for the subaru stuff, there are multiple kinds. Make sure you get the gasket maker kind, not the thread sealant. Tube looks the same to the desk jockey, but the part number is different.

permatex ultra grey works great, and it's easy to find. I've used it for the pan, engine case halves, transmission case halves and it has held up just fine.
