vanman
It turns out the lathe ideal wasn't so good. The harden nub in the bucket would just ground down the stone and eventually clog up. A better solution was to use the drill press and randomly move the bucket so that not not just one area would get the grinding, like a random orbital sander. I'm no machinist, but have known a few and watched them do there thing at where I worked for 40 years. Did you use any cooling fluid while machining ? You might be better off to just buy the correct pieces instead of risking your engine to save a few bucks... 305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs.
