TerryD Posted March 21, 2014 Share Posted March 21, 2014 I have a 09 spec b and I just got my car back from the same problem. They replaced everything. Nothing was usable. The only advantage I had, I bought extended warranty for my car and got it all replaced for $1000. I had to buy some fluids and the oil cooler, then I bought a stage 2 clutch and light weight flywheel. I got lucky. My local shop/tuner wants $500 to replace my uppipe (with one I provide) and pull the banjo filters- seems a little high to me. Yea, I agree, a little on the high side. But you did say filter(S). that second filter can be a PITA. Just the rear one should be fine for now. That should save a good chunk of cash. 305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. (SOLD). CHECK your oil, these cars use it.
