Ice Wagon
Was about to go run errands in the subaru, let it warm up up, got about 100ft and it popped out of 3rd and now it wont go into any gear, it has never popped out of 3rd before but it recently started popping out of 4th as well as reverse. When I push the clutch pedal all the way in there is a noise from the trans and there was never any clutch smell. Help? Its the DD '96 Legacy Outback Wagon 2.2 5MT Anyone around ND have a cable 5MT with 4.11 Final Drive??? http://i415.photobucket.com/albums/pp237/Zeekery2233/20140224_154804.jpg
jbbrjw2005
sounds like your clutch disk broke. I had that happen to me. whey aren't hard to replace just pull the engine it is easer. if you gave any questions send me an email. I can try to help you. my email is jbbrjw2005@yahoo.com
spooln30
Well those tires don't help. Usually when it pops out of gear means you have something broken inside the trans. I don't believe the clutch is the problem, it's internal. I have seen this many times before.

jbbrjw2005
that is easy fix. the aftermarket clutches are a little thicker then than oem. how did you get those tires to fit that thing?
Ice Wagon
That was a stage 1 clutch I put in 1/14/14 rated for 220hp and the ej22e is stock, the PO did it with 3" ghetto spacers above the struts. I just ordered a stage 2 clutch disc and a shifter knuckle that I'm not 100% sure will fit, Im re-using the stage 1 pressure plate as it isnt damged and I'm putting smaller tires on anyway
