Cobb AP v1 Stage 1 tunes stumble/studder

Anyone have troubles with this tune before on a stock car? Ive searched and am seeing one post from a member that just reverted back to stock tune and then later went with a protune because the studder was so bad. Ive tried the Stg1 91 and 93, both are giving me serious jolting when in boost or whenever I try and give it gas... I was almost thinking my fuel pump was on its way out however I flashed back to stock and the problem is entirely gone..

Thanks for the thread, ive read through it as well as the other threads backlinked into that one.. Everyone there seems to have this and cant get rid of it, mine is gone if I remove the tune, and didnt start until I flashed the Stg1 93 tune from my AP... Also to note is I have never had a CEL until I flashed this tune, and now im getting the infamous p0011 code... Pulled the banjo filters and removed the screens completely, changed the oil and filter, cleared the code... and now the code is back again.

In a nutshell:

Stock tune - Zero Studder

Cobb Stage1 - Stutter in every gear around 2200rpm.

...and replace with one of these kits!

I wouldn't be driving the car with a continuous P0011 appearing. turbo go boom boom.

Thanks Chimera, wasnt aware of that aftermarket kit. My code has since gone away and hasnt come back but now im getting a p0171 which is a whole other issue. Ill be checking the OCV tonight as well.. Car is running lean in bank1, going to clean IACV and make sure my stock airbox is completely sealed as I replaced the filter when I did the oil change/MAF clean. One month in to owning this car, gotta love it.. At least they dont cost as much as my last Audi.

  • 1 month later...
i was thinking of buying a used AP but after reading this, now I'm not so sure. Only engine related mods I have are a lightweight crank pulley and Avo turbo inlet hose. Don't have any stumble/shudder issues, I'm at 100K miles.

Mine ended up being a bad MAF, it was super dirty and although I had cleaned it once, I took it out again to find more gunk. Cleaned with a Qtip and more MAF cleaner and my issue is now gone.
