covertrussian
What does the stock one weigh? It seems to vary by the year and car, like say 05 WRX was 4.8lbs, I'll weight my 05 LGT when I remove it. But for this reason I had to search for actual pulley weight instead of the typical 3-5lbs lighter then stock marketing crap. 05 LGT 16G 14psi 290whp/30mpg (SOLD) 12 OBP Stock 130whp/27mpg@87 Oct 00 G20t GT28r 10psi 250whp/36mpg 22 Ascent STOCK

covertrussian
Ordered a Grimmspeed pulley, it's pretty nice, definitively a high quality piece. Has some nice weight to it, I was actually worried that it would be more then 2.6lbs. Put it on my kitchen and then shipping scale 2.06lbs! 05 LGT 16G 14psi 290whp/30mpg (SOLD) 12 OBP Stock 130whp/27mpg@87 Oct 00 G20t GT28r 10psi 250whp/36mpg 22 Ascent STOCK

spritefiend
wish i had this info a few weeks ago. i have a gms pulley with an excedy clutch/flywheel to replace the dual mass, and it's causing havoc on my idle right now. looks like i'm going to order a kartboy one to add some weight, and hopefully resolve my issues. doobaruGT
Never noticed this informative thread before but definitely helpful. I had always heard and read that the GS pulley, while weighing more than most, was better balanced to be lighter than stock but still maintain a nice idle for those of us running LWFW's. I'd like to replace mine this summer to beat an impending separation of the stocker. Updated parts list since original part-out here. Original Full part-out of my LGT HERE! covertrussian
I personally like the GS one the most, it's very high quality, and only 1lb heavier then the lightest pulley. If I you don't gain any HP from loosing 4lbs, then you wont gain anything more from loosing another pound, thus no reason to go lighter just to run into CEL's. 05 LGT 16G 14psi 290whp/30mpg (SOLD) 12 OBP Stock 130whp/27mpg@87 Oct 00 G20t GT28r 10psi 250whp/36mpg 22 Ascent STOCK
zactek
You should add Ralco RZ to the list. I think they're the nicest ones, they remind me of the old school Centerline wheels. I bought a set that contains the crank, alternator and PS pulleys. They're nicely machined, and fairly inexpensive. I haven't had a chance to weigh them yet, will try to in the next week or so. Zack K. You talking about these? https://www.ralcorz.com/RalcoRZ-914923/ or the legacy kit https://www.ralcorz.com/RalcoRZ-914916/ I know engines are the same though. If the crank pulley is not obnoxiously light I might grab that kit. Will lightening the other pulleys along with the crank pulley have the same effect as just a really light crank pulley? covertrussian
First time I'm hearing of them, no published weights though, but based on picture looks like a sub 2lb pulley. PS pulley is a nice touch, I would consider getting it by itself. 05 LGT 16G 14psi 290whp/30mpg (SOLD) 12 OBP Stock 130whp/27mpg@87 Oct 00 G20t GT28r 10psi 250whp/36mpg 22 Ascent STOCK
zactek
I got the kit in the first link, the one with the alt. pulley (that's the only one installed so far, lol, fits like a glove) You're lowering the rotating mass of the motor with lighter pulleys, basically minimizing spinning losses. Unless they're underdriven (smaller diameter than stock, which might throw off certain parameters) there shouldn't be any CEL's
covertrussian
Lightweight crank pulley and lightweight flywheels are known to throw CEL's. Other pulleys being light weigh doesn't hurt anything. Mind weighing your stock alt pulley and ps pulley vs the new ones? 05 LGT 16G 14psi 290whp/30mpg (SOLD) 12 OBP Stock 130whp/27mpg@87 Oct 00 G20t GT28r 10psi 250whp/36mpg 22 Ascent STOCK

Mind weighing your stock alt pulley and ps pulley vs the new ones? Just to be clear, I'm talking about the AT, NOT MT throwing the CEL. Here's an interesting thread on the subject http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/pulley-vs-lightweight-flywheel-37269.html?t=37269&highlight=cel+installing+lightweight+crank+pulley I can weigh the stock alt pulley and the Ralco aftermarket PS and crank pulleys, the Ralco alt pulley is already on the new alternator... Streetlegal
In for weights. On the site is says a weight of 1.5 lbs so if that's what all of them weigh together then that crank pulley is going to be really light.
zactek
Ok,so...stock alt pulley is 7.0oz which would mean the Ralco one is somewhere around 3oz. The Ralco PS pulley is 6.6oz and the crank one is 1lb 2.64oz Zack K.
Sgt.Gator
OBX- lightweight and underdrive, 1.0 lbs and 4 5/16" diameter. $80 shipped on Amazon. Red, Blue, or Silver. http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41qIkwY3-YL.jpg OBX also makes a second fancier version lightweight pulley, on Amazon it says underdrive, but it may not be. $89.99: http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41wYvNFHvdL.jpg Unorthodox Racing used to make an underdrive Subaru pulley but all the new ones are stock diameter, lightweight. You can occasionally find an old Unorthodox Racing underdrive pulley on eBay. Unorthodox sells just the crank pulley, just the P/S pulley, or both as a set. 1.00 lbs. ,3.00 oz. for the lightweight crank pulley. http://www.unorthodoxracing.com/pulleys http://www.unorthodoxracing.com/media/catalog/product/cache/1/image/265x265/9df78eab33525d08d6e5fb8d27136e95/c/s/cs1311afl_6.jpg All the other ones I can find are stock diameter pulleys at 5.5" . covertrussian
Just to verify, looks like underdrive part number is P10681B, while light weight regular size is PAJ773BL right? Also I wish we could use tables in the posts, it's a pain to add new entries currently so might switch it to be a screenshot of my spreadsheet or store the data inline.
