smithwoods Posted February 1, 2014 Share Posted February 1, 2014 My 2006 Legacy wagon (116000 miles) has a hard shift into 4th when cold (below 30). If I use the sport mode and hold it in 3th for a 1/2-1 mile it will upshift smooth. When warmed up all is ok. the car is new to me and it was warmer when I got it. Any thoughts? smithwoods Posted February 4, 2014 Author Share Posted February 4, 2014 That was the first thing I did because the fluid was dark and no record of any fluid change. It's been about 100 miles now and the 1 2 3 shifts are smoother. the shift to 4th is less hard when cold so I hope it is cleaning itself out. I will say it has to be the easiest car to do a fluid change on. A drain plug and external filter should be the standard on all cars. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
