Johnny_I
Is there a DIY rear brake job for our cars floating around? I went to replace my rear rotors and pads and I noticed the caliper carrier bolts are pretty much inaccessible... is there something I'm missing? Any and all help is appreciated. Thanks. doobaruGT
They are very accessible. Perhaps you're eyeing up the wrong bolts. http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/rear-brake-pad-replacement-147194.html Updated parts list since original part-out here. Max Capacity
14mm socket, 6" extension, I like to use my flex head ratchet with the long handle. Also PB Blaster is your best friend. Use 8mm bolts with some PB Blaster and anti seize compound to walk the rotors off the hubs. You may need to back off the parking brake shoes too. 305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. (SOLD). CHECK your oil, these cars use it. Johnny_I
So pretty much I was looking down on the brakes from a seated position and didn't realized they had access holes if your underneath they are easily visible as compared to a seated position... chalk this up as Oops in my book. Sorry fellas but thank you for the prompt responses.
