chamorudude87
I have a 06 2.5i and just had the clutch replaced, an hour after driving I noticed a chirping sound when I was idling. If I just barely set my foot on the clutch pedal it goes away... I know the throwout bearing was replaced, anyone have this issue in the past? Any ideas? It is a simple adjustment to make on your own but sincce the work is fresh I would take it back and mention it, if they are knowledgeable they should be able to correct it quick. jhow257415
yes I had this too last summer….was throwout bearing as well, had the clutch replaced (had broken teeth on the pressure plate). After the clutch change all went away.
SBT
Could be as simple as undoing the transmission mount bolts and shifting the trans slightly and re-tightening everything. Also, if that doesn't fix it (and it typically does where clutch chirping is involved), get a small spring, and attach it to the TOB arm and rig it to something close. There's a thread on it. apexi
My car did the same thing after a new clutch was installed. From what I've read on this forum, it's a very common issue. People say it can be fixed by installing a return spring on the clutch fork. http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/chirping-clutch-out-179869.html http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/my-tob-squeal-solution-alt-clutch-fork-return-spring-91377.html http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/noise-typicali-177666.html http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/slave-cylinder-clutch-fork-iiiii-154524.html http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/crickets-chirping-clutch-pedal-released-154094.html http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/throw-out-bearing-chirping-30-miles-after-brand-new-installi-209105.html?t=209105
