Vtsubiers
friend has a car with an accessport tune on it. but he got the car without the accesport. he can go get it open source tuned without "clearing" the AP tune first correct? he is under the impression he needs to buy a new ecu without a tune on it, and then get it opensource tuned. I said a tuner should be able to "erase" whatever map the car is running on (AP or not) that way he doenst have to try to track down the AP from the previous owner... etc
cryo
Unfortunately ecuflash will not even read the ecu if there is a cobb v2 tune on it. Your friend will have to find someone with an ap, install it onto the car *which over writes the current cobb tune* and then uninstall it thus flashing a factory map back on. Hope this is helpful and have a great day. Another option is to call up Cobb and mail them the ECU and they can unlock it.
joeleodee
I didn't know one Cobb v2 could overwrite an AWOL Cobb V2. Good to know.
