chhrisd
I have a 2006 Outback XT with a 5 speed, and reverse pops out of gear when you begin to move faster than 2 mph. All other gears work fine and the clutch is good. It seems like this means the gear is broken, so I'm looking at replacement transmissions. My question is: what models can I take the 5MT from? I saw the transmission FAQ that said all 03+ 5mt turbo are the same, but other sources are saying that gear ratios are different between models like the WRX. Any information regarding the interchangeability of transmission or what could be causing the reverse issue would be much appreciated! Thanks! Moderators BarManBean Posted September 26, 2013 Moderators Share Posted September 26, 2013 Depending on your timeframe, I'll have my transmission from my '05 OBXT available in the near future as a result of a 6mt swap, just over 70k miles. Interchangeability I'm not sure about, sorry "Bullet-proof" your OEM TMIC! <<Buy your kit here>> Not currently in stock
chhrisd
How much would you be selling the transmission for? I would need to get it shipped as I'm in Vermont.
Moderators BarManBean Posted September 26, 2013 Moderators Share Posted September 26, 2013 Shipping is most likely a possibility. No idea what a transmission goes for though. PM me and we can talk further and I can look into shipping options--do you have a greyhound station near you?
