Should I get a tune or Ap or download stage 2 map?

O I'm the same way...mostly been with airride on trucks. I bought a 1999 mazda brand new and within 30 built a new chassis from the firewall back out of 2×3×3/16 tubing. I have the "itch".

 

If I'm fine on the stock map then I'm going to leave well enuff alone untill I fell the need to go faster. Lately I have been going below the speed limit on the interstate to see how good my gas mileage can be.

 

A friend of mine has an aftermarket uppipe, could I install that without a tune?

Yes. You will need a resistor to "trick" the ecm when you remove the EGT sensor. A tune will gain mpg at cruise. You can adjust the ACVS for slightly better mpg.

Dose the resistor plug into where the sensor once did

Yes. Just cross the terminals with the resistor. 2.2kohm 5 watt.

It should. But once again, most customers dont realize the savings because they are using more right foot.

Stage 1, yes, even a good stage 2 like my wagon has from TA (mike kinsman), it get's better mpg then it did stock.
