apexi
It looks like you have a 2009 Legacy GT with an automatic tranmission, since some other people might ask what car you have. Have you ever done the spark plugs? Rear differential fluid, front differential fluid, brake fluid, pcv valve, engine air filter, cabin air filter, etc. Basically I'm curious to know the history of the vehicle. Payback45
My bad about not giving any info about my car...yes you are correct, it is a 09 automatic. I've only done engine oil changes. Hasn't had any of the services you mentioned above...save for the air filter which is a k&n and it has been cleaned once or twice
apexi
Attached is subaru's recommended maintenance schedule. From what I've read on here, I believe people have asked dealerships about the fuel filter, and have been told that you really don't have to touch it ever. I think you have to replace the whole fuel pump to do the filter, or something like that. I don't know much about AT legacies, so I'm not sure how long you could/should run the ATF for. In your shoes I would do: -Spark plugs -Rear differential fluid -Front differential fluid -Replace brake fluid -Cabin Air filter
Payback45
Thank you for all your help this far...do you know the weight for the diff oil? I've bought NGK plugs and will put them is ASAP
apexi
You want a gl-5 rated 75w-90 for the front diff and rear diff. One thing to note is your AT legacy has a va2 type rear differential, click the link below for more info http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/can-someone-help-fluid-changei-210098.html?t=210098
bluesuby
I had my plugs changed at 60k and just now at 120k. I'm wondering if that interval is too long. The new plugs made a big difference in power. I'm thinking about doing the next set after 50,000 miles.
AZP Installs
Here is what we do at 60k service: http://azpinstalls.com/web/index.php/services/maintenance/major-services/33-60k-service On the AT you will want to do a drain/fill with a quality fluid: Redline ATF, Motul ATF 100% Synthetic, or Subaru ATF. If your car has the spin on filter for the AT, you will want to get an OEM AT Filter and put that on. -Mike Paisan http://www.pbase.com/paisan/image/91072632.jpg http://www.pbase.com/paisan/image/145749898/original.jpg http://www.pbase.com/paisan/image/133406601.jpg http://www.whiteline.com.au/images/logos/perf1.jpg 11+ Years Maintaining, Modifying and Educating TriState Subaru Enthusiasts. AZP Installs
Is easier to change plugs from the top or doing it underneath the car? Above. You need a bunch of universal extensions and even more patience. Mike
