captainwoy
I am looking to purchase a used Subaru Legacy 2.5i and was looking for advice regarding things to look out for. After looking around the site, it looks like the timing belt (chain) is the big item at 105K. When looking at a 2010-2011 standard transmission 2.5i, is there anything special I should be aware of? Thanks in advance for any help. I'd like to get a 2.5GT, but after dealing with a Saab 9-5 and it's turbo, I'm not sure it would be worth it. dgoodhue
The biggest issue is some 2010 have a highway shimmy, so its a must on the test drive that you bring it up to make sure the shimmy isn't present in 70-75 mph range.
captainwoy
Yesterday I picked up a 2011 Subaru Legacy 2.5i Premium 6spd. I think I got a pretty good deal. The car has 35K on it off-lease and is certified through the dealer. Great overall shape, no shimmy at 75+ mph, all weather package, new tires, and a decent price. I look forward to driving it more. captainwoy
I haven't taken many pictures as of yet, but here is one. It is a sharp looking car. Not too flashy, but I like the lines.
