Dufek125
well after my car started running on 3 cylinders, I got sick of messing with it, found an amazing deal on a bugeye and parked it for awhile. Missing the leggy I started tearing into it the other day, just got the heads off tonight and found why there was no #4 compression, broken valve! what now? buy a new valve, some lapping compound and have some fun or take the heads in to get rebuilt. basically im just trying to get it going for a DD, not anything to crazy
subikid90
I would rebuild the heads. Have a machine shop check everything out to make sure a valve guide or something isn't bad. -Subikid90 1997 Legacy GT 5spd & EJ251 w/EJ25D heads ~10.5CR 1998 Legacy GT Limited waiting for EJ22T hybrid swap
Stang70Fastback
Not sure why you're making such a big deal out of it. There are tons of cars that come from the FACTORY with only 3 cylinders, and you don't here those people whining. Suck it up!
Thomistopheles
Definitely have the heads gone through and rebuild them.
spooln30
I agree with kid. The seat might be chewed up and lapping wont fix that. GL.

sunny5280
My thought: If you've gone through the trouble to pull the heads then why not properly fix it?
pleaidestar
ohh were not so bad.. They are great people, just a lil batty..too many cold winters, then they move to the desert where heat drives people nuts.
pleaidestar
Yeah pulling the heads and putting them back on with a potential compression loss will have you pulling them back off in a in a few months with some chamber scoring and piston burning...too much oxygen will f*** up the other valves..as well as having seriously less power and terrible fuel efficiency.
