sphen22
This is where mine landed, held on great for about a week, then a few hot days here in socal it fell off, first off the dash and then off the mount. Little bit of superglue two weeks ago and it has held great since. http://i341.photobucket.com/albums/o381/sphen22/IMG_20130828_100835_933_zps0a5b2959.jpg http://i341.photobucket.com/albums/o381/sphen22/IMG_20130828_100908_318_zps53cb3571.jpg http://i341.photobucket.com/albums/o381/sphen22/IMG_20130828_101013_783_zps6bc37662.jpg
kingjon
That's where I use to mount my v2, but I didn't really like the location so I thought I'd changed it up with the v3.
CapnJack
I got mine last week and finally got around to installing it tonight. The pros - The reflash times are almost half of what the V2 is. Screen to screen movement is much faster. Multi gauge display is awesome. You can set it for a screen with one gauge, a screen with two gauges, a screen with three gauges, ... to a screen with 6 gauges. All six screens can have different gauges on it and each gauge has a min/max value below the current value. Rapid scroll feature helps get to different screens quickly. Display is much easier to read over the V2. Maps come pre-loaded into AP so it is plug and play for the stage 1 and stage 2 people. No downloads required. Cons - Dongle/cord is all one unit and the plug on the end only fits the Accessport. This leads to how you have to data-log with AccessTunerRace. You must use the AP as a pass through device. With the V2 you could use the dongle and cord to plug into a laptop. Now you use the microUSB port on the side of the V3 to connect to your laptop. Buttons for menu to menu are a little different to get used to. It can be a little tedious. Dongle cord comes standard with a straight connection. I believe you can purchase an angled connection, but I have not been able to find one. Is it worth the extra money. I think the pros outweigh the cons. Time shall tell. dwolson2
I think it depends on which v2 because my apv2 you have to pass through it to use at race. I don't have the dongle, just the wire.
CapnJack
I just heard that about the later version V2 units. I was surprised when I saw it on my V3. I had to call Cobb and ask how to do it.
Joker1315
Real quick, back to the location for the V3, I used a suction cup from my girlfriends Garmin and it works awesome! This way it doesn't fall from the heat and you have the ability to move it if needed. I stuck it right to the windshield next to the A-pillar. http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/09/07/6epyhuvu.jpghttp://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/09/07/ese3y3e6.jpg
