  1. Lol first off I should have done this in the dark lol you cant sh!t what your trying to do anyhow! This way you can see the real alignment of your headlight faster vs daylight hours. So, there is three keyways that need aligned see red circles on the attached photo. Also, if straight up is zero degrees the final position for the electrical connection is 15 degrees to the right. This is shown by the yellow arrow. The electrical connections are at rest at this angle. I wish I could get a clear photo of it. Before putting the watertight cover back on it you can inspect is from above by looking through the frame in this case behind the battery! The hole in the frame will allow you to see if the bulb is seated correctly. She lol had a lazy eye and I fixed it in 10 minutes!
  2. I got what I asked for lol yea the removal of the tire would make it better. I am used to making blind connections and yes the body contortion was an issue lol kneeling pad a much needed thing! lol
  3. Ok, she’s got her new eyeball! Lol All you need a mini crow bar (my choice), or a short large flat head screw driver Fist off thank you for all the information, folks! This was supposed to be easy, and it was but with a few issues. Number one turn the wheel away from the work area so you can get in there. Number two you must realize this is going to be an all feel and blind install you can’t really see anything with your mit in the working area. Pop the rivets and pull the shroud back and be careful you don’t rip your bumper when you do it. I took out four rivets to give the inner fender well liner more movement. I don’t have a jack, but good idea if you do. Number three loosen the all-weather cap. There is a thumb lever to give you enough leverage to turn it. Its not quite a 1/2 turn but it will move slowly. There is a large diameter gasket inside that will be giving you a lot of resistance when turning. Number four pull the electrical connection from the light bulb. Number five release the light bulb buy releasing the retaining clip that holds the light in place. Remember how it feels when you do this because it only goes in one way. Feel the orientation of the electrical tines "prongs". Number six out on gloves and install new light. Now, here comes the real fun. There is a raceway with a keyway that the light is supposed to set in but like Silverton stated “install the bulb correctly” or your light alignment will be off grossly. I made every attempt to made sure that I was in the raceway. I would rotate it with small 1/16" turns to see if I was in the correct position. Number seven put retaining clip back into position. Number eight re-attach electrical connector. Number nine turn car on and look at light alignment. You will really need to do this at night shining onto a wall to see how bad it is or if its ok. Number ten readjust if you think it’s off. Number eleven reinstall weather tight cap, reinstall rivets. Number twelve wait until evening and go find a large wall and see how your alignment looks. If its off a little close up it will be off hundreds of yards away from your light source. So, a helpful tip is when it’s a blind installation close your eyes and envision what your trying to accomplish. I will test it tonight it looked ok in the day light, but we will see. Another helpful tip is when you take the electrical connector off remember the orientation of the power connection “the prongs for the light. Are they parallel or perpendicular to the ground.” I believe they were parallel with the deck lol but time will tell. I just hope shes not cross-eyed lol, but if she is I will do this again tommorow! In twenty-five minutes you can be done, but go in knowing this will be a wee frustrating. lol
  4. Lol well thank goodness I don't have to remove the engine lol. Thank you I thought this would be the easiest lol. I just wish I could see what I was doing. I will take my time lol
  5. Driver side main headlight bulb replacement! Ok, do I really need to remove the rivets on the wheel shroud and then blindly remove the cap cover to install the new bulb? Is their a better way or this is the only way? Thank you, folks! Sonder
  6. Actually I will have the key fob on me. I need someone to drive my car from where I put my boat in and drive it down river a few miles to where I pull my boat out! They need to be able to drive my Soob a few miles. Lock the car manually and before closing the door put the valet key in the center console. I have I exp this well enough sometimes my brain does not workl!
  7. yes you fine folks are correct for lol between 200 - 400 dollars this is a possibility!
  8. I bought her used and she was a corporate lease. Its only came with the key fob key. Whats the cost like? Who can cut a key like that?
  9. Ok, well I have not researched this to a great extent but looking into getting a valet key for my Soob. I do a lot of fly fishing and I need for someone to plant my car at my takeout point. I would like to get a valet key made. Is this a possibility? All I want someone to do is drop my car off at the takeout. Lock my doors manually and before closing the door put the key into the center console! To make a spare key looks to be a small fortune, but I know my fellow Soob folks here will get me some insight! " in her natural habitat while I float down a river in W Va!"
  10. It's just my hyper brain hearing things that are not there. Lol thank you very much for taking the time to watch the videos.
  11. ok here she is again all warmed up from running about 125 miles.... less noise video
  12. These Videos are loud - you have been warned! lol Shes @145,000 miles Hello folks, and once again I need to tap into the mass amount of common sense! So, here around the Great Lakes Region it’s been hot and I understand not as hot as other places. I don’t know if my hyper awareness is causing me to notice this or it’s always been there and like a nervous parent, I am now just noticing it. These videos are loud, and you have been warned. I’m going to be going to Maine here in a few weeks and my Soob is running the same as day one when I gave it a forever home in 2020. She travels all over the region with no issues. This is cold start, and I will take another video when I get back from my afternoon errands. @ 1:30 that’s me revving the engine @ 1:20 I turn on the AC @1:30 ish I turn off the AC I am most likely being paranoid, but with my 2600-mile round trip coming up soon I just want a different point of view. Thank you, folks! Sonder Close up and Loud Video of Engine Warning Loud Cold Start Engine Video
  13. ..I dont see the thank you button anymore but thank you folks!
  14. lol cool I googled rust covertor and my head almost popped off at all that was availiable ..lol.. and then I saw they yea the smallest size is what I wanted I dont need a gallon! ..lol..
  15. ..as far as rust covertors go is their a brand you could reccomend so I can get something close?
  16. Monkey thank you! I tend to overthink things thank you!!
  17. I ordered my Dr, Colorchip kit to make these shall chips go away. I was going to purchase a small dremel tool https://www.dremel.com/us/en/p/3000-1-25-f0133000az to assist with removing the rust and a little more paint to get all the rust out. How much area should I remove is my real question? Should I worry about getting back to the metal until I don’t see rust, or I am opening a real bucket of worms and making the affected area worse?
  18. Well, I went out to my friend’s farm. He has a border collie but so does his neighbor (a younger one). Needless to say, the younger border collie jumped up on my car and left me few presents. She clawed up the paint a little bit. I will be purchasing a chip paint repair kit from Dr. ColorChip (for other mninor repairs), but now lol I need to buff out the scratches from my driver’s side door. What products do you fine folks recommend? Thank you, Sonder
  19. Wow the was strange to type ..lol.. Does my 2014 Soob Legacy have two Cats? We just had someone in our apartment complex get thiers stolen. The vehicle was a higher profile vehicle. I know that my low profile will not stop the one thief that really wants it, but I thought I would ask.
  20. Super easy! I did it on mine and did a drawing no shocker and took a video with my phone!
  21. Well, that was easy! Lol I bought some MAF sensor cleaner and PM’d that also! The Air-Fuel sensor came out with no issues. You folks are correct the DENSO is original equipment “not that I doubted you”. The odd thing was (here goes my attention to detail). The sensor holes for sampling on the original was like 3/8” on center and the new one was like 1/2” on center. It was just an odd observation I wanted to point out and now the Soob runs so smooth my brain thinks there is something else wrong! Lol….. The replacement was again simple and the only thing I needed to remove was that plastic air-ram. The only tough part of the job was to unhook the electrical connecter on my Soob was blind. I have carpal tunnel “all jokes aside” I needed to use a mirror to see what in the heck I was doing. I needed to depress the tab with a short flathead screwdriver to release the electrical female end. I automatically unhooked the negative power lead from the battery to ensure the battery would be disconnected for at least 20 minutes. So, all done could have been done in 30 minutes or less, but I did not have to be in a hurry. Another side note that are wee little machine screws be careful not to lose the lil fellers. I did not, but saw how bad it could go ..lol… Thank you again folks for all the input and be well, Sonder PS I went to harbor freight and purchased for under 10 dollars that sensor socket to remove it with a 1/2" drive.
  22. Dumb question disconnect the neg and pos legs or just one ?
  23. I got the part now for the install and I pray the light just goes away! ..lol... I will also doing the easy MAF PM on it too!
