  1. Thank Max Capacity. But the link to thread shows 05-06 lgt. Mine’s an 08 Spec.B. I replaced all vacuum lines but my issue as stated in op, is to know if those of you with the vf52 swap on 08-09 WITHOUT EBCS have kept both pills or not. Murphy’s law, keep it as is and for sure I was probably supposed to remove it lol! I’ll keep digging. But, thanks on those links and I do have the vaca pics of 08 and it’s my type of work ethic but not handy in a swap situation.
  2. Hi, was swapping vf52 in 08 Spec.B and whilst installing vac hoses with turbo inlet I noticed that there is a pill in each of the 1/8” vac hoses, (one on wastegate side and one on other side of barbed tee fitting on intercooler side). Now when I compared to my vf46 there is only a pill on intercooler side. Sooo, do I leave it as is or replicate vf46 setup? Am about ready to start her up and install stg2 so I would like to settle this issue asap. Anyone ever notice this?
  3. Cool thanks, also prepping VF52 and was comparing with my still good VF46, the vac lines between inlet and wastegate has “the pill” only on inlet side where VF52 has a pill/orifice in both little vac lines on each side of tee. My question may sound stupid but, do I keep VF52 oem as is or do I remove wastegate side orifice as to emulate my VF46 or will this cause issues? Vf52 came off 2011 WRX. My OEM VF46 is 2008. Any input would greatly help. *UPDATE* Found my answer. They added an actuator side pill in later WRX models to smooth out boost release so the wastegate wouldn’t shut hard on throttle release making a huge clicking sound.
  4. Update, all my vacuum hoses replaced with siliconehose.com in blue. Blue Perrin turbo inlet is in and blue Samco coupler and bpv to inlet installed, just waiting on two t-bolt clamps that I forgot to order. Ugh the wait... It really makes engine bay nicer. For t-bolts I went with Ideal Tridon stainless steal and some Mishimoto. Ideal’s are a tad wide but fits good. Rear whiteline 20mm rsb is in with avo support brackets also installed but no room to install lockdowns. Anyone have this issue??
  5. @max capacity. Yeah new turbo oil out hose installed and I mocked up the turbo to dp with gasket etc and put about 15psi to wastegate with compressor nozzle to actuate it and no noise what so ever. And just to double check I put a bit of wheel bearing grease on divorce and put it back together, did test again and no grease on wastegate so it must be updated dp! Thanks for the hints though!
  6. Nice catch on Spec B. I own a CDN 08 DGM Spec. B myself. Clean underneath surprisingly as it has always been in quebec! We get siberia winters and add a little salt for taste. Still, as soon as I got it last year I went and had it rust proofed at Krown rustproofing. No mechanical issues so far at 220000KM, DD so I don’t beat it too hard. Some little things go on the way, understandable as it is 12 yrs old. Turbo inlet went on me last week. Boot to turbo cracked before turbo clamp. So waiting on Perrin blue inlet, Samco blue bpv hose and coupler to match, while there I’m looking at any vac or pcv hoses that are sweating or starting to crack and will be replaced. Also checking banjo bolts on AVCS and turbo feed to see if filters are present or not. Different srtories on different years concerning these. All around getting to know engine bay and cleaning as I go. My first subi!! Interior is impeccable EXCEPT rear left door card is from an LGT. AAARRGH, so I need to find Spec. B door card. Good luck! That means prev owner got in fender bender or whatever and easy fix was probably swapping whole door so I’m screwed. Will find one eventually. Underbody and rear suspension and frame rails show no sign of impact so just door got banged luckily. Anyway, AMAZING car I’m happy I got it. More enjoyable all year round that my previous ‘01 Bullitt!
  7. @doctordave, real nice!! I’m looking for rear left spec b door card since previous owner had whole door replaced in fender bender but shop took an lgt complete door with lgt door card!! Ugh try finding one now!! These details bug the crap out of me. I got the car last year and I’m still finding little surprises like this! Waiting onsome parts but will be installing perrin turbo inlet blue, samco coupler and bpv hose in blue and a few vacuum hoses from siliconehise.com in blue. Can’t wait!! Vf52 and invidia dp divorced and DEI titanium wrapped is ready to go in after that
  8. Thanks csaari but the tech at Kartboy says I have to swap linkage from an STI and there is an issue with reverse cable fitment on that. He gave me the correct part number KB-20-SPEC-B. So I’ll go with the Cobb as some forums confirm it works with Perrin reverse lockout without any issues.
  9. Thanks but I looked EVERYWHERE even jp-parts etc. Was hoping to find used. The only vendor that has one is Cobb. I don’t want to swap linkage so as to fit STI STS cause they are different. I guess it’s Cobb then. Hope the Perrin reverse lockout will fit. Some say it works, some don’t. I’ll know in a month lol.
  10. Hi, just finished installing Whiteline 2 pt adj. 20mm RSB with AVO brackets and Strongflex sport bushings. Gives an amazing tight feel in the corners. However, I am looking to put in a short throw shifter and cannot find Kartboy for 08 Spec B. I don't want Cobb as not compatible with Perrin reverse lockout. Any ideas or used for sale??
  11. Hi, not too sure how these forums work. Might be a topic already but I'm looking for a Kartboy short throw shifter and can't find anyone who sells them. I don't wish to go with Cobb as of yet since I have the Perrin reverse lockout installed and supposedly they don't go together. Any input would be nice if there are other brands new or used. I'm getting new bushings anyways. I'm in Montreal, Canada but it can be shipped to Champlain, NY. Regards, Steve L
  12. Hi’ CDN 08 DGM Spec. B here! Nice to know. Thanks for the hard work on those vins!
