Boost controller birdsnest

Here's a pretty good pictorial on the difference. Damn, I should have taken a picture, now I gotta drive down to the shop and see... https://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/top-feed-vs-side-feed-tgv-192686.html?t=192686 -
Boost controller birdsnest
pdXammo replied to pdXammo's topic in Fourth Generation Legacy (2005 - 2009)
So the plot thickens... My shop neighbor threw his fancy scanner on it and all those codes came up defined as "tumble generation valve blah blah". There does not seem to be anywhere for the dongle off the harness to plug in where there should be TGV's. I think it has dletes on it? Here is what I think is going on. Semi-knowledgeable owner puts some mods down on this car. Sells it, it changes hands and gets worked on. Somewhere along the way it loses it's tune or it gets corrupted if that's a thing. It's now trying to run on a stock map or a broken/incorrect one. Now I got to figure out if these are stock injectors? are they side or top? I can't tell the difference. It's all gotten very interesting suddenly. Must find stock air box if I'm going to get it tuned. I hate that K&N with every fiber of my being, I don't care if that's a rational feeling or not... -

Whats the chance these are codes related to sensors that would become superfluous with a TGV delete? -

Old pic, that's all clean now but, you can see the loose components there around the top of the intake and boost control. -
I've got this mess by where the Grimspeed boost controller was installed. I started trying to get my new to me 2005LGT5MT wagon running properly yesterday and a bunch of codes revolving around the MAF and intake sensors/actuators. I'm not 100% about the workings in the intake and TGV's and such. There are a bunch of loose sensors and wires/tubes and such around this boost controller. One of them is one of the codes popping up. I can't imagine that it's good to have electrical components bouncing around like that. I can't really figure out a good way to secure these things other than zip ties... There must be a way persons do this , yes?

Need advice on suspension setup for 2005 LGT wagon
pdXammo replied to Pleides's topic in Suspension/Brakes
May I interject into this conversation as I am looking at similar things from a similar standpoint? I am wondering about just getting a bunch of those aluminum JDM suspension components and having all the bushings replaced and poping those on rather than pulling everything off and re-installing. It seems a good opportunity to inspect everything, all the hubs sensors, all of it. Ebay is filled with those spec b parts and I'm a little concerned some might be China knock-offs it aught to be possible to get good stuff. Thoughts? -
I'd think mock it up with the parts off the car and see?

I have not owned one long enough to know, are most usdm models HID? What makes these different? Is there an external ballst with them if that's not a standard item in USDM? -

Anyone ever try to make something that is a hybrid of the stock snorkel system and the CAI that the aftermarket produces? It doesn't seem like it would be that hard to make something to graft the snorkle to the air box on a CAI? Maybe this has been built by a company before or there has been discussion about such before... -

Looks like I already have a catless uppipe. It's a Perrin or a knockoff. Time to look at a downpipe now. It was hard to see it in there until I got underneath. -
That is super interesting.

That sounds like a winner to me! I am going to creeper you for pics now. -
At some point people do a TGV delete right? Any idea what's up with that?

For clarity my tires are 235/40/17 not 18. There seems to be an abundence of room. It's still on jacks though. I'm kinda thinking 245's now.... -
I got them from another member who stated low mileage so they aught to be good. He referenced having them cleaned which I will. He talked about an adapter, was he meaning change rails? I'd be inclined to go new rails than adapter if this is the case. I've got a thread going about this engine which has become a tire discussion lol but, you have some ideas about fuel rails and fuel pump?

I don't know if I've ever seen e85 sold, never looked either though... Have some id750 topfeeds from another member. last unresearched buy but, I think it was a sound one.

She's a bit of a 30 footer right now, looks good at 30 feet. I know this guy in Salem though Touch Up Tim. He does an amazing job of sprucing things up.
