  1. Can confirm, I have a LGT grill on my Outback. The hoods are the same, and the bumper is what creates the different fitment. For years I was able to shove the LGT grill into the indentations of my factory bumper and not have any noticeable panel gap. One day I took the time with a Dremel and lightly shaved the areas of the grill that came into contact with the bumper, and now I have near perfect fitment.

I know, I've gotten a lot of flak for it here. I am trying to make sure it goes to a good home.

Less flak, more like mourning. Both for the future loss of a wonderful member to the community, and for the uncertainty of the next home the wagon goes to. I think bringing the wagon down to the event in attempts to sell it are the best of ideas -and every year someone does just that.

Done. I am local and can bring a canopy.

do we all need to buy the same class of entrance to secure a common spot or doesn’t matter?

Nope, does not matter at all. We can all park together if we show up at the same time. I'm a guest down there, so I will be a little more hands-off for organizing and corralling us together.

Who here will be at WagonFest PDX?

Confirming here now, I'll be at WagonFest PDX. Excited to be there.

I will probably go to this. Thanks for the heads up Febreeze.

Anyone been to one before? Assume you park, walk around and talk with others there?

Been to several. You nailed it. I would bring a popup chair. I think I'll bring a popup tent, unless someone else local wants to volunteer. It'd be nice to own a corner, and kind of dig in a little more.

  6. Went on a drive with the famous @boxkita today. Lot's of time in the seat. Started driving about 3:00pm, back at the house about 10:30pm.

At the end of my night, I met some kid who had built this replica of Vince's Maxima (he has the correct wheels at home). He and his father also have a full replica of the green Eclipse (since 2016), and just began on building one of the heist Civics. Good stuff!

Man if I could get my fitment to look like that I’d be in love too lol. The swift springs dropped me quite a bit lower than I thought so I’ve been fighting rubbing in the back.

Thanks! I'm having issues with my Swifts too. They have about 100K miles on them now, and need replacing bad. I'll be re-valving my BCs with the same innards as the KWs and replacing the Swifts then.

Man, that looks good! I now have renewed inspiration to get new wheels/tires for my OBXT...as soon as I have some money saved up...and the car is running normally. LGT 5-spokes with LGT OEM-size tires on an Outback (with Spec-B suspension, mind) looks slightly goofy, to say the least...

That's flattering! Thanks so much! Def do it!

  8. Wagonfest Portland maybe kind of hard for me to reach this year with it falling on the last day of my vacation plans. Will let yall know. Wagonfest up in WA though — oh I'm there!

On topic, I've also realized since swapping in this 5MT from an 06 LGT, that I'm very content with the 5MTs still. The car drives very different from the 2.5i 5MT. Pending how far I can get tearing into my original 5MT and throwing LGT gears in it while refreshing, I may ending up asking you how your experiences with this guy down there are, Nathan.

  9. 70K miles of hard usage in/around the mountains has provided great learning points on my former brake setup:

LGT brake swap with Centric blanks in all four corners, Project Mu B Spec pads up front, basic Akebono pads from O'Reilly's in the rear. Mach V braided steel lines all around. And ATE Typ 200 fluid.

Friday night all through Saturday night was spent giving attention to the new setup and more:

Changes include DBA 4000 series rotors up front (love the kangaroo paw slotted look), Project Mu HC+ pads in the front, and Porterfield RS-4 pads in the rear. Switching over to Motul products in the MC this year.

New Moog inner tie rods show a little more adjustment room with a few more threads than the old ones, and some new fluid journaling on the inner side. Replaced old/worn WL ball joints with new ones. The outer tie rods felt new still.

I also rolled the fenders with an Eastwood fender roller, heat gun, and IR temp gun. 180°-200°F, patience, and deliberacy are key.

15mm of spacer all around took my +51 offset Prodives, and pushed them out nicely, and safely.

  10. Started the grind on Thursday. New seat assembled and installed Thursday. Went up to 425 Motorsports to browse last March, and made it happen last week. It was my grail seat, a Recaro Pole Position Classic in the ABE trim. I wanted something you wouldn't notice unless you looked inside of the car. I only wanted a driver's seat, and I wanted black leather. I'm not exhausting myself or taking away from the drive just to stay seated now. Paired that with a new DAMD wheel, and Redline boots to match.

Bonus: I've managed to catch the Recaro emblem peaking as the sun poured into the car's cabin twice now, and it's beautiful!

    *more pics coming soon*

That is tempting, and tho I do like the comfort of my big leather seat, I am also on the bean pole side of the physique spectrum, so something that hold a little better may be an option down the road. I'll never justify racing seat money, and kind of want the airbags anyway...

It's always the TOB for me. It wears before my discs. Great work! Sounds like we were working heavily alongside one another this weekend in the garage. I spent about 26hrs in the garage rolling fenders, installing wheel studs, wheel bearings, pads, and rotors in all four corners. I also put in new inner tie rods, new ball joints, new end links up front, and regrease the swaybar bushings, all on both sides. fixed my oil sandwich plate leak. It seemed half of that time was cleaning off parts, and anti-seizing them for reassembly.

  12. Threw on a new cowl panel yesterday. Been wanting to replace the original one for a few years now, before they quit selling them at the dealer. My hood is still at paint.

I put in my seat yesterday. Waiting on a 3.3ohm resistor to come in to disable the airbag light.

Fresh PS4Ss (on my 4th set now) dropped off with the freshly powder coated RPF1s. Hopping to have those by Tuesday.

Threw in my carpet floor mats in place of my rubbers. Lastly, I contact-cemented the Redline shift and e-brake boots onto their plastic structures. The interior is complete! I'll post pics up on build thread after this weekend's plans.
