  1. It all depends on how long you want keep your car. Yes, Subaru says it is a lifetime fluid, but look under the severe driving stipulations, and it gets muddy as to when you should think about changing the fluid. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Way too rich for my blood for a Legacy. I could get a Volvo S60 for like 1000 more Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Normally I’d say not to get a first year Subaru model, but with the 2020 being on the SGP, and hearing all the positive feedback on the other vehicles on the SGP, I’d test drive a 2020 and see how it feels. Would be worth it to me IMO. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. I had the same issue, the fix is this: The issue is that you have removed the Starlink module, which sits below the headunit (See picture attached). The front speaker signals pass through this module, so removing it will also disconnect these speakers. We normally recommend that you retain this module if possible because removing it will eliminate some of the stock features associated with Subaru's eyesight system. Basically you have to keep the small starlink box that sits under the stock stereo, connected to the factory harnesses if you want to keep the front speakers stock. There is a bypass you can get. 5. Got my windows tinted last week, went with 25% ceramic all the way around, including the back window. Pretty happy with it, had 35% on my old car and wanted darker Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. The first day I drove my 2016 I bought used, the car locked up like you said. I was in the city, after seeing a basketball game, and tried to pull out of the parking space and the wheels were locked. Needless to say I was stranded on the side of a busy road in Boston unsure what to do. I was eventually able to get it to disengage after about 20 minutes of trying everything. In my case, one of the connectors for the EPB was loose and that caused the issue. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Depending on where you live, they have elemental coated rotors which help against corrosion in the winter. Had Centric GCX rotors on my old Impreza and they were really good, easy to bed in pads as well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Finally got around to installing my Polk component speakers in the front, and my Alpine amp under the passenger seat. It’s laughable how light the stock speakers are, makes you wonder why they even bother sometimes. Only think I didn’t realize was that Velcro doesn’t hook onto our carpet anymore. My 2012 Impreza was able to use Velcro to attach the amp and crossovers to the carpet under the passenger seat. Anyone have other options? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Probably a battery tender. We have one that we use for our 4 wheelers and such, and our Tundra. Works pretty well for maintaining the battery Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. FWIW, my 2012 Impreza had coolant consumption, I had to top it off every couple of months or so. Checked my 2016 Legacy I got a couple months ago, and it was below the low mark as well. Topped off as well Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. You can tell that the fog light surrounds aren’t matte black now, right? Black plasti dip base with blue metalizer over the top and glossifier to finish it off. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. If you can get a Levorg, I would get one any day over a Legacy. Prefer it much over a sedan, and the engine is a lot better as well Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. I have a JVC v830bt - a couple of years old now, had it in my old Impreza. Wanted to get something than Pioneer as they’re ruined as a brand for me. Overall been really happy with it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Had some leftover plasti dip so i decided to spray my fog light surrounds. Not a perfect match but wasn’t looking for one either. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. That it also how mine looks on my 2016. Not worth the effort as I put in an aftermarket stereo. What a joke though that this happens to their headunits
  16. 20% looks pretty good, I had 35% on my old Impreza and wished I went a little bit darker. Tint laws here in MA are strict too, but I have a medical waiver for tint due to migraines
  17. My 2012 Impreza burnt 1.2qts in 1200 miles, got the shortblock replacement and that helped the consumption. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Just picked up my 20mm RSB, the stock endlinks are corroded and I can't remove from the stock bar, so I'm going to pick up new endlinks. Are these the Kartboy ones that will fit our car? https://www.rallysportdirect.com/part/endlinks/kar-kb-017-08rear-kartboy-rear-endlinks
  19. Sorry to bump this old thread, but I think I'm experiencing the very same thing. I drove a 2012 Impreza CVT for the past ~7 years, I got used to the way the CVT drove. I recently got into a 2016 Legacy CVT after totaling my Impreza, and the CVT behavior is a lot different from the 2012. It's hard to explain, but it feels like it is hard to keep a smooth cruising speed or acceleration. There have been times on the highway where driving and it feels like micro-adjustments in the throttle occur. I guess this could be due to the simulated shift points?
  20. Thanks for the note, I can’t get over how low the CCA are on the stock Legacy battery. I replaced the battery on my 2012 Impreza with a Duracell AGM and was more than happy with it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. I’m curious, where did you run the power cable for your amps in the engine compartment? I’m looking to install an amp under the passenger seat, but didn’t see an available grommet to feed the power cable from the battery to the amp Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Got this successfully done last night, thank you to protivakid! Sirius now works again. Took me 20 mins to figure out why the stereo wasn't reading the .exe files That's what I get for skipping over the directions!
  23. I have the very same thing in my 2016 Legacy. Coming from a 2012 Impreza which has the 2.0 FB engine, I never noticed a sound like that in my old car. Glad to know that it's (most likely) normal
  24. Picked her up a couple weekends ago, 2016 Premium. Previous car was a 2012 Impreza that was totaled, thanks to a pickup truck not looking my way Overall liking the car, drives nice, seems more refined that my Impreza.
