  1. For the 2008 SPT Performance Exhaust on my 2010 Legacy GT I used a hose clamp on all 4 isolators. The lateral hangers I rotated the isolator 180° and used the middle hole for both the vehicle hanger and muffler hanger. For the mesial hangers I used the upper hole for the vehicle hanger as usual and the middle hole for the muffler hanger. I traded this exhaust for my Invidia Q300. My wife and I both thought the rumble was way too deep at slow driving speeds and b/w 2000-2500. The SPT exhaust that I traded had a resonator installed upstream closer to the donut flange. It is literally perfect now.. meaner than stock but not too loud, much more tolerable than the Q300 yet still growls. Great on highways and in parking speeds around town. I really love the SPT logo and keeping it OEM (even though they didn't make a true OEM for our LGT's..) Oh.. I did have to take a sledge hammer to the spare wheel tub to prevent the passenger exhaust pipe from rubbing as well.
  2. Try the clutch damper delete mod. Also try a fresh oil change.
  3. Definitely looking at the new 2020 Legacy Limited XT when my dealer get it in this September !
  4. I always use the e-brake to park. Ive always done it that way and I also don't leave it in gear as I installed the clutch starter bypass. My dealer is waiting for the parts to arrive. They had to completely fabricate a new part to fix this issue.
  5. just did this today, bent an old wire hanger!
  6. Fixed the front seat back support. It always felt "off", and after playing with my wifes '14 Outback, I know something was broken as my Legacy only made the left side firmer. As this is my first Subaru, I naively thought this was a cool Subaru feature to help keep me in my seat when I made hard bank turns.. Out of curiosity, I opened the seat up to find a broken midline straw thing and two broken hooks with the top hook in working condition but just unhooked. Checked the local dealer price... didnt really wanna pay $353.67 for a new "Frame Assembly Front Back Rest, #64110AJ03A". SO... bent an old wire hanger and added a few zip ties down the center and voila, Bob's your uncle. My back didn't know what it was missing out and boy is it far more comfortable to drive.
  7. Changed the O2 sensor, went with the denso brand for about a hundred bucks.. P0420 code came back today and Im pissed! CAT was just replaced last summer with 40k miles on it. Only thing I haven't replaced is the A/F ratio sensor (Bank 0 sensor)...
  8. How about that weather? I also was considering the Koni drop with /13-14 springs, as well as the face lift with the STI lip.. but I get tons of snow in the front grill from plowing through 6-10" of snow.. and then that melts into the bumper and forms just massive ice chunks. I found a new 2010 Legacy GT owner in Chippewa Falls! Has the twilight blue metallic. I am also dealign with the dreaded P0420. Dealer even added spacers to up/down stream sensors for me, rec'd 1-2 cans of seafoam, and Cata Clean. Sad part is I had the turbo and cat replaced at 70k with a used turbo/cat with like 35k. Sitting at 85k now and code has never gone away, just keep resetting the ECU agh.. Moral Hazard how does the romraider work? I miss my cruise control and traction control.
  9. Bought the Media Hub Kit H621SAJ200, for non nav HK head unit, from berter auto group. I installed it and realized it did not come with the USB/Aux module that goes in the center console (H621SAJ220, also impossible to find). It had been in their shelf for 8 years and they didn’t check to make sure all the parts were included before shipping! Berter auto felt bad and refunded me the whole cost! Which was super cool. So.. I take that money and buy the HJ621SAJ300 (media hub kit with Bluetooth) from an Australian dealer and verified that they did have the H621SAJ220 usb module. 1) I can confirm the H621SAJ300 media hub kit with Bluetooth works worth the Limited 2010-2012 Legacy GT models with Harmon Kardon 6 cd head unit (Bluetooth quality sucks tho, use USB.) 2) Now I got an extra media hub kit (without the usb/aux module that goes in the center console), and want to give it away for free. Does anyone want one? Just pay shipping please. You would just need a female to female USB coupler and run the line to the glove compartment or something. It’s like $259 normally but I figured I should pass the love!
  10. Anxious to install this but wanna have all the right parts. Ya know... "While I am under there" might as well replace : TMIC coupler, add some braided steel lines, shifter bushing and shift stop. Everything except the braided lines have been sitting on my kitchen counter. Anyone that added steel braided lines, what brand and part number did you use?
  11. Bought the Media Hub Kit – Subaru (H621SAJ200). Fiance has factory installed in her 2014 Outback, loved using hers too much. Should pair well with the ProClip phone mount!
  12. I’ll have to do some research, that sounds like exactly what I’m looking for. I do think lowering, even half an inch would look weird because of the huge wheel body accent. I have 80,000 miles on stock shocks, springs, sway bar, bushings... etc.
  13. I’m pretty indifferent. No complaints on the BBB, Subaru Certified Mechanics, and good google reviews. However, NO loaner, and it took them 2.5 months to fix the clutch and head gasket. I took Uber’s everyday for work and then borrowed my dads car cause it got so expensive. He had to redo the timing tension just last month, Chilson Subaru in Eau Claire scoped the belt and saw it flapping around. Also had to redo the axle seals. The bracket the tensioner mounts too had striped threads. AND no part numbers for any of the parts he installs. I wanted the brand and part number of the stage 2 clutch he put in and he couldn’t tell me, I was hoping to chat about it on the forums here. Oh additionally he charges me $395 for an OEM flywheel, and when I last spoke with him he said he just remachines the original, and said it’s just like how dealers do that to brake rotors. So I suppose I wouldn’t recommend him, but I didn’t know of any other place to go that knows Subies, besides the dealer. What had you heard?!
  14. Humble Rumble and cww516 thank you for catching the post in the pictures forum, I spell checked like 3 times but failed to check the actual posting location! So to kind of put things into perspective.. I bought the car from my dentist for $12,500 in March 2018. Then 1.5 weeks later the clutch went out, I took it to Elite Motorsports in Oakdale, MN and had a Stage 2 clutch put it, said the head was leaking, so we did a MLS headgasket, spark plugs. While the engine was out and I was 10k mi shy of the timing belt thought might as well.. soo did the timing belt, water pump, pulleys, seals, tensioner, etc. Then 1 month later the turbo is making funny noises, check it out, bad bearing starved of oil, banjo bolt removed, replaced the turbo and cat, then also noticed I need a new radiator, front and rear brakes, new starter, axle seals, PCV valve.. etc. In less than 3 months I ended up spending over $8500, and now I am $21000 into it.. it was just one thing after another, and this was my first Subaru, it was so fun to drive and I needed a car to get to work and was taking Uber's while it was in the shop. SO spat up the $$$ again.. IDK, needless to say I am going to own this car for a long time.. so I kind of want to turn it into a project and continue to add performance parts over the span of like 10 years, just for my own driving pleasure. I drive a motorcycle in the Summer too so not putting a whole lot of miles on it! Humble - THANK YOU for those links, especially the STI japan site. I'll likely start with purchasing stuff that is compatible with the 2015 STI as its stateside, like the 20mm rear sway bar, this is good info!! This is a daily driver still and my front drivers shock is slightly leaking so new suspension next summer will be the first. I found the special appearance 2014 headlights, bumper, bumper lip, grille and fog lights on various sites, and can do that under a around a grand. The only tS grille emblem I could find was for the BRZ : http://www.subispeed.com/subaru-ts-front-emblem-and-bracket-17-brz#.XBJ04FVKhpg cww16 - Thanks for moving the thread to the proper forum. Regarding the sway bar, this is also great information. The 2015 WRX turbo location is on the lower left too? And thats what I love about the LGT, it is similar in performance to the WRX but less flashy and has a more refined interior (wood trim and white leather and all). I bought the clutch damper delete part and am thinking of having a go at it along with the slave spring. Would you want to meet up to tackle that with me? ripstik - ooohhh looks nice, I like it! Scubaboo - What would you recommend for a comfortable suspension set up that also performs well? I came a cross a GIANT thread on just suspension, I still have to read all of it. Also - still new here and not sure if I am properly replying to everyone's comments. But wow thank you all for the quick response and useful, constructive information!
  15. Hello (sorry in advance for the long post) Does anyone know of STI /SPT OEM Subaru performance parts that fit the Legacy GT? (other than the STS, shift knob and foot pedals) I know the EJ255 engine on the LGT is on other models, right? (with the exception of the turbo location..) After searching the forum and finding the attached threads, it looks like Perrin has worked with a couple guys on this forum (GTEASER) to test-fit parts made for a 2015 WRX to see if they worked on our 2010-2012 Legacy GT's - specifically their shifter stop and shifter bushing on the basis that the LGT had the same transmission. Additionally, the other thread I attached below on what parts fit other models was helpful too, but... I am specifically looking for OEM performance Subaru brand cat-back exhaust, STI shocks, SPT cold air intake, STI front and rear sway bar / tower bar, tS grille emblem, 2014 front end/STI Lip. Reading about these Perrin parts just makes me wonder how many other companies haven't properly test-fitted / marketed their performance parts for our LGT's? Including Subaru! But basically, I am trying to turn my 2010 LGT into the rare Legacy GT tS - as shown below in the motortrend article and photos. Not because I want my car to be something its not, I love the quiet-looking sleeper she is but would like to improve the handling and overall driving experience, and I am huge trusting fan of Subaru. If I could drive a LGT tS in the USA/ nonetheless find one to purchase, I would! (Seemingly only 600 LGT tS's were made and sold in Japan.. but come on, the tS owners gotta do regular maintenance, thus we must have part numbers somewhere right?! This article on the LGT tS has far more photos and information about the performance mods the STI department decided to add. https://www.motortrend.com/cars/subaru/legacy/2010/subaru-legacy-25gt-ts/ https://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/5th-gen-lgt-performance-mods-202211.html https://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/parts-other-models-years-fit-our-5th-gen-143255.html
  16. I hope I'll feel a difference in the vertical and horizontal play. Love the STS, should have had it from the get-go. Falcor - I recall reading a thread on here about that when it was first discovered that it was interchangeable with our tranny's. Something about a V1 and V2, and the V2 being the correct version. ccw516 - likewise! I literally have yet to see another LGT, and I moved from the Twin Cities, however theres a noticeable increase in the number of 5th Gen Legacy's in the Eau Claire/Chippewa area. Chilson Subaru must have a good sales team! To answer your question, I do go as far East as Marshfield / Steven's Point for my sales job, never Fox Valley yet. It would be cool to see another LGT!
  17. specterpdx - I want that front end face lift so bad! Looks good. Unfortunately, my clutch, head gasket, brakes, spark plugs, radiator, turbo, cat converter, timing belt/water pump, starter ALL needed to be replaced this past summer, so I had to prioritize my $$$. Isn't it crazy how the Azurite blue coat can look SO different as the seasons change?
  18. 2010 Legacy GT - Azurite Blue Male - 27 years old, recently engaged (last week) and the fiancé just bought a '14 Outback Regional Dental Sales Rep Owned just 1 subie STI STS, STI shifter knob, MLS head gasket, Stage 2 clutch, looking to add a TON of mods, I think I came to the right forum?
  19. Installed the STI Short Throw Shifter (#C1010AJ100) and STI Shifter Knob (#C1010FG100) Ordered the 2015 WRX Perrin brass bushing (PSP-INR-016) and Perrin Shifter Stop (PSP-INR-018). I think I need the 2015 WRX shifter bushing washer as well..? oh andddd Headlight bulb this morning.. this time went to the dealer, covered under warranty if they fail under 1 year. Bulbs were previously replaced this past June!
