Similar thing happened to me recently. Turned out to be a combo of plugs,coils, and bad tune. Car was tuned to lean under full wot. In turn overworked cylinder 3 coil and plug.

Max knows what he's talking about. I posted a similar thread last year and he made a few recommendations. I listened and am very happy with the results. Currently have a vf52, Grimmspeed TMIC, CNT 3" catted downpipe, 3" uncatted uppipe, Cobb intake and v3 accessport, and a set of uel headers. Car dynoed Tuesday at 278 hp and 310ftlbs at 21psi. Going change my coils and plugs and give it another go in a week or so.

Bump for a great seller. Seriously tempting but saving up for a Genome set myself. Someone buy this setup.

Hello. Im looking to upgrade my cooling system on my 06 LGT 5EAT. I purchased a mishimoto radiator and overflow tank already. Looking for an expansion tank, fan shroud assembly, and transmission cooler. Figured I'd try asking here before buying. Thank you for your time and consideration.

Sounds like you'll need a new actuator if things aren't moving smoothly. There's been a few times where I've dealt with broken plastic bits on actuators. Usually they attach to a metal tab that'll slightly stick out from the back. Push on the small metal tab and it should open. Please note I've never dealt with this issue on said assembly. However, looking at the pic, I would imagine if you could push or pull on the metal tab with the spring it should open. It looks like disconnecting the spring from the top would give you better access for your finger or pick tool.

Have you tried using a pick tool? You should be able to use one to push on the actuator to manually open it. You might even be able to use your finger and push on it. I work in an auto body shop and sometimes after d.a. a door/gate will get closed with a latch disconnected. Most of the time you can use your finger or pocket screwdriver.

Hello all. So theres a couple parts I'm looking at buying. My vehicle is a 2006 Legacy GT USDM wagon. One of the parts is a DAMD steering wheel. Noticed there are 2 options for it. A-C and D-F. Theres a grille I'm looking at buying that mentions A-C preface lift. How does one tell what version theirs is? I know the 08-09 have the curved headlights, where the 05-07 have the angled headlights. I also know the USDM bumper is a couple inches longer than the JDM. Does this play into the A-C vs D-F and/or preface postface lift thing? If so how? Given the prices of the parts, would hate to buy and not have it fit. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Have you checked your MAF sensor by chance? My car stalled out on me a couple times about a year ago. Changed the MAF sensor and hasnt had an issue since. Figured I'd throw it out there.

I can vouch that the scoop and spoiler are made very well. Just painted them last weekend. Installed the spoiler and going to install the spoiler this weekend. The spoiler fits nicely.

Wanted to upgrade the brakes for safety. Suspension to get HP to wheel and adjust ride height. Exhaust for performance and sound. Ignition Coils because of the engine tune up seemed appropriate. Obviously the biggest performance boost would come from the vf52. Figured the lightweight crank pulley would be wise to change as I could supply it to the shop for the timing belt service. Obviously there were a few parts I bought for pleasure. I feel this is a solid start for a decent daily driver. Will try to post pics once parts start showing up and are put on.

Hello all. I'm looking to buy a catless uppipe and a catted downpipe for my 2006 Legacy GT automatic wagon. I'm located in St.Louis,MO. Figured I'd try to buy a used setup here first to save a little money on my current build. Thank you for your time and consideration.

Thank you guys for all the advice/recommendations. Thinking I may have the shop do the gaskets and timing belt. Will have them do the banjo bolts too. Thanks for the links awfulwaffle, very informative. I'm going to look into buying a accessport, cold air intake, uppipe, downpipe, and mufflers first. Going to price out a VF52, brakes, and shocks/struts. Will do those myself. Couple questions regarding modifications to the exhaust. Will a catless uppipe make the car not pass emissions testing? Also, should I change out the header pipes too? If so, equal length or unequal length? I've seen both types available, and to be honest I dont know the pros/cons between them. Hello all. First time really posting here. Looking for some insight/advice/recommendations about my wagon. It's an 06 Legacy GT automatic wagon. Currently everything is stock and has 88k miles. Just recently the car started leaking a little oil from the passenger valve cover. This got me thinking. I dont plan on getting rid of the car and want to build it to a daily driver sleeper grocery getter. Given the mileage and age, the timing belt should be changed out soon. Might as well change out the headgasket too. My local Subaru shop will do job for roughly $2k. What do you think they could/should do with say a $5k budget for the engine? Thinking about getting forged internals. Also thinking about getting the turbo rebuilt/swapped to a twin scroll setup. Would changing the headers and exhaust be wise to do now too? Figured seeing as the engine will be out, changing them would be easiest now too? I'd like the initial build to be around $8k. Definitely plan on doing more later on. So TLDR, 06 LGT Auto Wagon. Stop 88k miles. $5k engine build budget. $8k overall budget. Shop quote roughly $2k for timing belt/head gasket/valve covers. Thoughts/recommendations/advice on where to start.
