  1. Well, it seems you're at a deadlock. 1. Keep that car despite the risks 2. Sell the car or 3. Send a cease and desist to the dealer and SOA. If you choose the latter, just be warned that it will take time, energy, efforts and possibly an attorney's help (having *successfully* gone down that road myself). Unfortunately, it indeed sucks to be you right now. Sent from my SM-G960W using Tapatalk
  2. If we were talking about a rattle, creak, bouncy suspension or something of this nature, I'd be of your opinion. That being said, having eyesight brake suddenly while crossing an intersection is both a hazard and a lawsuit waiting to happen...
  3. Good thing is that your issue was recorded during warranty period. Though SOA and the Dealer will try to pretend that warranty is over, the issue appeared during the 36K miles duration (AND it's a safety issue). Especially since you provided video evidence, nothing to do but keep pressing them (or sell the car I guess...)
  4. Hey Guys! Fuel economy for the car is very good. When combined with the huge fuel tank, I often get really impressive quoted max range. Just got my record max range at 1 010 KM today (Approx 627 miles). I'm curious to see what people's record range has been on your Legacy (2.5). See picture: https://imgur.com/a/BSTDPsB
  5. Can't speak for anyone else's experience, but I had my engine block replace under warranty. That being said, I actually had to send a cease and desist letter to Subaru Canada threatening to sue them if they did not replace the block. Then again, my oil consumption was much less critical than your case seems.
  6. I've done synthetic oil changes. When you reach viscosity grades like 0w20, synthetic oil really starts to be necessary, to avoid vaporisation as much as possible. Sent from my SM-G960W using Tapatalk
  7. Hey Guys! I've got an update on the engine. After playing dumb for a while and saying that my car's oil consumption was normal, Subaru Canada changed their position and decided to replace my engine's short block. Only took sending a cease and desist letter and threatening legal action when speaking to Subaru's lawyer. As a sidenote, I,ve recently learned that 2012-2016 Legacy's were added to a class action for oil consumption (Province of Quebec). Anyhow, it actually worked out really well for me I guess. Lesson to be learned here? Subaru is fully aware of the issue and will repair engines if pressed hard enough... Thanks for the support guys. Edit: They will also be checking all gaskets and piston rings when opening up the engine, replacing parts if necessary. Good news all around
  8. Well, that's a fairly crazy story... I was already planning to monitor my car's oil consumption myself. Your post just makes sure that I will do so even more thoroughly. My main gripe is with the fact that the car is still under warranty until December 2019. If it doesn't burn "enough" oil until then, here I am stuck with an engine burning excessive oil out of warranty. Thanks for your insight Sent from my SM-G960W using Tapatalk
  9. First off, I have already read on this forum and on the internet at large about Subaru oil consumption issue. That being said, my low oil level light came on today. I went straight to the dealership. It seems my car burnt 1.4 litres of oil (approx 1.5 quarts), for a span of about 7300km (approx 4500 miles). Dealer says I must burn more than 1 litre ever 6000KM for repairs to be covered under warranty. What do you guys think? I will follow up on this forum for fellow users, regardless of the outcome. Thanks, PS: 2015 2.5i with approx 75 000KM (45 000 miles)
