  1. Hey everyone. I've had a rare, though recurring transmission slippage issue. When driving at a constant 125-130 km/h (75-80 MPH) for a long distance, the transmission will start slipping after some time. Slip is very noticeable and lasts for half a second at most, but will continue unless I lower my speed for a while. The engine RPM is stable, no water or issue of any kind that might cause the symptoms. I tried reproducing the issue with and without cruise control - same behavior occurs. The car (and transmission) is still under warranty, but I wanted to ask anyone else out there if you had the same issue. Only occurs when driving continuously at these higher speeds (may be a tad fast for Canada, but it's the regular speed limit for many US states, as I understand it...)
  2. As far as I'm aware, the warranty for the Canadian and US markets is the same (Full Warranty --> 36K MILES/3 Years USA = 60K KM/3 years) (Powertrain --> 60K MILES/5 Years USA = 100K KM/5 years) I can't speak to how this specific issue has been handled by Subaru thus far, but it should be covered, even outside warranty, since it constitutes a manufacturing/design defect. The TSB itself proves that. I can't speak for other provinces, but it should be covered under Québec law (Source: Am a civil litigation lawyer)
  3. Amazon! For something like 20$ Light had a bit of play, something like 2 mm (1/128"). A tiny piece of tap was sufficient to stabilize it. Oh and uhhhh... What do you mean when you say "shame"? Not sure I've ever heard of such a thing as "shame" /s I was inspired by a colleague of mine who was showing off his welcome lighting on an Audi. A 200$ option on Audi's website
  4. I've had the same issue and was wondering whether I was alone or not. I've only had it happen with my passenger window during winter (There's not actually much snow on the first video. Mostly humidity from the indoor parking garage). https://streamable.com/2jr4h0 Seems likely that the fix is the TSB linked by Stuff
  5. Huh. Thanks for the link! Funny enough, the Outback thread was inactive for almost a whole year, only to come back alive 8 days ago. Guess I'm not the only one seeing snow and thinking about my steering wheel
  6. Hey guys, Just wondering if anyone has looked into retrofitting a HEATED steering wheel to replace their non-heated steering on a 2020+ model. I know this was discussed by a couple people in the 2015-2019 forum, but the main issue was the fact that it'd have to be retrofitted with an Outback steering. However, now that the higher trim Legacy has a heated wheel, would the replacement be any easier? For anyone asking, obviously, buying a limited trim with the standard heating wheel would be the better option. I'm just thinking out loud here (and might consider doing it if it's easy enough.....)
  7. Kinda gimmicky, but I like it! Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
  8. Wow... Looking at all your 2.4t fuel consumption figures leaves me baffled. I don't baby the throttle as much I should. However, I don't consider myself a maniac. Is it possible that, off boost, the 2.4t has a better fuel economy than the 2.5 [emoji848] Or are you guys driving 90kmh/55mph while I'm driving 75 mph? [emoji28] Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
  9. Latest fuel economy figures for my 2020 2.5 are at 8.1l/100km (29mpg). With mostly urban highway driving.
  10. Ground clearance really isn't an issue for me. I actually went into deep forest trails last weekend, and though I was scared a few times regarding ground clearance, after stopping a few times by precaution, I finally ended up seeing that the ground clearance is actually fairly impressive for a car. I usually baby my cars, but what a blast it was driving on dirt forest roads!! PS: Love the fact that I have my 2015's Legacy wheels. Already have winter tires on for the upcoming Canadian winter
  11. I have gotten in touch with Autostop Eliminator and they have confirmed that their device only acts on ASS and not AVH. It doesn't seem like it would be complicated for them to add AVH. However, they don't have an outback/legacy nearby for testing purposes. I'd gladly help, but it would be a long journey going from Canada to WV.... Especially with the border closed and all.... 12. For my information, does the device also make AVH stay in the last known setting? I always drive with auto S/S off and AVH on. Would most likely be buying in a second if the device did both. Otherwise, I'll still have to turn on AVH every ignition anyhow. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk

  14. There is a setting in the main screen, to make touching the driver side dour handle open all four doors. Not near my car at the moment, but it was one of the first things the dealer changed and told me about regarding the center infotainment screen. The fact that all doors open when the passenger side door handle is touched is expected behavior. The reasoning seems to be that if someone is climbing into the car as a passenger, there necessarily is a driver climbing into the driver-side; When climbing in as a driver, there is no indication that someone else is coming along with you.
  15. I can confirm that the update files posted by chvvkumar on the Outback forum (https://www.subaruoutback.org/threads/2020-outback-software-gigathread.517684/page-35#post-5983591) Worked with no issue on my mid-trim Legacy. BE AWARE, if you update a mid trim Legacy or Outback, everyone has been receiving an error message at the end of the update, when to progress bar is completed. You may disregard and follow the TSB's steps. Once the car is restarted and the screen reboots, everything is properly installed and updated. Being capable of turning off Auto start/stop in 2 clicks alone is worth the update. In my opinion, there is not much of a reason to have your dealer update the car, or worse to pay for your dealer to update it. You'd have to be really bad to brick your unit. Just my two cents.
  16. Nope. My previous (2015) did not have TPMS sensors, nor does the **CANADIAN** 2020. A good thing if you ask me. One less thing to worry about when buying tires. You can use any simple pressure gauge bought at your local Canadian tire. Sent from my SM-G960W using Tapatalk
  17. I have been having this exact issue randomly, about once every month or so. Same behavior as you. For me, the only fix is to delete my android phone from the Legacy head unit, then to pair it back with the car. Sent from my SM-G960W using Tapatalk
  18. Oops. Should have looked further in the manual. My bad. See the attached page to the present post, in case someone has the same question as me in the future.
  19. Hey guys, Unfortunately, the manual isn't very helpful when trying to see what model light bulb is inside the trunk (See page 514 of the user manual). Does anyone know what the bulb model is? I'm looking to replace the standard halogen with a brighter LED.
  20. Has happened a few times to me. Very bad weather, mostly snow, where the windshield is obstructed or heavy sun glare seem to be the main culprits. That being said, eyesight reactivates a few minutes/seconds after the windshield is cleared. Sent from my SM-G960W using Tapatalk
  21. Good to know my sentiment regarding an early oil change is echoed by you guys. Seems like I'll stick to my line of thought and do an early oil change. The dealership is easily accessible for me, so I may have them do it. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Sent from my SM-G960W using Tapatalk
  22. Though I agree with your general sentiment, I find it a good idea to acknowledge OP's concern, for the sake of other users' if anything. I too was (mildly) surprised at first when I got my previous legacy. Contrary to my previous vehicles from other manufacturers, the gas nozzle never seemed to quite go in. I can report for OP that this caused no issue to my previous legacy, nor does it cause any with my current 2020. Happy driving/refueling OP! [emoji6] Sent from my SM-G960W using Tapatalk
  23. Hey guys! What are your thoughts on doing a preemptive oil change after engine break-in on the 2020 Legacy? I'm gonna hit 1200 miles/2000 KM soon and I'm thinking of doing an oil change preemptively. I've seen my fuel consumption drop very noticeably during break-in and it seems like a trivial expense, considering the engine oil's most demanding use case is probably engine break-in. What do you guys think?
  24. Huh. I find it interesting that you would be getting 34 mpg with the xt model. My 2.5 2020 is averaging 27 mpg after 500 miles (8.6L/100km after 900 kilometers). Though I am usually a driver with a moderately heavy foot, I have been driving very conservatively for break in, with 60/40 (highway/city). Since my previous 2015 legacy was averaging 29 mpg (With spirited driving), I'm guessing I can expect somewhat better fuel economy with the 2020
  25. Hey guys, One thing that I haven't seen any reviewer point out with 2020+ Legacy is the quality of the heating system and air/heat insulation. As crazy as it might seem, it is one of the major differences I see between my previous 2015 Legacy and the 2020 model (Though I am aware the heating system was updated in 2016 or 2017 if I recall correctly). Not only does the heater output more heat, there are less cold air currents inside the cabin due to better insulation overall. Just an FYI if a prospective buyer is curious about the info
