So I'm collecting parts for my rebuild right now and I have not decided on what turbo to go with. Here's the list of parts so far, either that I have or am certain I will be getting.
Forester XT Catless Uppipe
Invidia Divorced Catless Downpipe
Stock Headers
Stock Catback
DW 850cc Side Feed Injectors
DW 265lph Fuel Pump
Stock Bullet-Proofed Intercooler (looking for used aftermarket ones)
Grimmspeed Intake and Intercooler piping
GFB G-Force III Boost Controller
GFB 50/50 BOV
IAG Side Feed TGV Deletes w/ 8mm Phenolic Spacer
IAG Stage 2.5 Closed Deck Shortblock
Killer B Pan, Tray, and Pickup
The goal here is 350-380 whp with a decent streetable powerband. I've been considering the BNR Billet 20G. Is that enough or is it too big? Any recommendations for a better turbo for the price?
The stock intercooler seems like it's gonna be a big choke point, but I'm not so worried about the catback.

Mind me asking what the accident was?

This article explains the feature some. It works when you're wearing glasses and can be turned off if you like. I have no doubts that it's a competent recognition system, and it certainly is a luxurious feature. I do think they could fix a few of the smaller issues first though.

Pretty sure the new Subaru's use facial recognition to customize the driver profiles. Pretty cool, kinda dystopian? I guess I trust Subaru to not sell my face to the government.

Check for vacuum leaks somewhere? That or maybe disconnect and clean your TPS.
-
Definitely check the timing. I had the same thing happen to me and it was because an idler seized and the crank pulley sheared off all the teeth on the belt. Boom, new engine time. Big thanks to the cheap timing kit the previous owner used...

If you have a catted one you're looking to sell I'm also interested, but would prefer catless . Must be for automatic fitment.

Are you going to use a break-in tune or just run it lightly on the stock tune? I'm doing a very similar build to yours and I was curious what the procedure is gonna be after the engine is together. Do you first get your 2k miles or so break-in done on the stock tune (no boost of course, driving Miss Daisy) and then have it dyno tuned? Would it be safer to get a base tune from Mr. Cryotune or something?

I'm gonna guess you guys have searched it over for vacuum leaks? My other guess would have to be an exhaust leak between the headers and the turbo. Check the uppipe and crosspipe for leaks, cause a leak between your exhaust ports and your turbo is a boost leak effectively. Also check your intercooler piping for leaks and then additionally if your wastegate is getting stuck you're just gonna dump your boost, especially at higher rpms. Film or watch the actuator so that it's moving correctly. If all else fails, send your turbo in somewhere for an overhaul.

I have a grille like that. I'm willing to part with it.

I need a new bumper anyway. I feel like I should just go with a bumper and grille pair that work with each other rather than spend all this time on cutting my car up.You have a Spec b grille for a JDM post facelift. So... all you need do is trim the grille, bumper, and re-drill the holes. The second mount on the step isn't needed.

No. I'm gonna sell this grille though.SonoftheBread, did you find a solution to your problem?Sent from my Carrier Pigeon using Tapatalk

What year legacy is that bumper good for? Pre face-lift?Picked up my goodies this morning with some extra stuff . As I picked up my stuff, I walked around the warehouse seeing LOTS of engines, trans, several nose cuts, etc... The owner of 'Used JDM Engine Inc' in Baltimore is really a nice guy. I will definitely do business with them again if needed.Freakin pumped to do the install. This stuff is even in better shaped than my front end. Looks like the donor car was in great shape. Rust free!
Note: crappy pictures from my old Nexus 4. Ligthing was off (left side was natural light and right side was 'basement lighting' which was yellowish). It gives the false impression that the DS headlight is yellowish but it's not.

That's what I was thinking.Isn't this a little expensive for just a bumper skin? You can almost get a nose cut for that price.Sent from my Carrier Pigeon using Tapatalk

Will I need to trim anything or get a new bumper beam? It doesn't have fog lights so I'd assume I would have to transplant mine somehow. The mounts probably aren't the same.PerfectSent from my Carrier Pigeon using Tapatalk

This seems like it's the right one, is it?Keep an eye out on eBay. Saw one a couple months ago for $400Sent from my Carrier Pigeon using Tapatalk

I'll take any advice for what to do here. I'd be okay with keeping this grille and finding a Spec B bumper if it doesn't require any ridiculous modification of the front, but if the spec b bumper is hard to find or expensive... Well I'd also be okay with returning this grille and getting one that fits a normal jdm bumper.

Would it be cheaper to return this and instead buy one that can fit with a non spec b bumper? You need a jdm bumperSent from my Carrier Pigeon using Tapatalk

Will I need to do any modifications to make the 3.0R bumper fit?And SpecB one (or 3.0R) to be exact. JDM GT won't work with that grill.Sent from my Carrier Pigeon using Tapatalk

I need some help with a JDM front end swap. I have an '05 LGT Wagon and I bought a JDM grille off ebay. I realized it doesn't fit the USDM bumper, so is it that I just need a JDM bumper for it or did I get the wrong grille?

I should have also clarified that my eventual goal is running 11's, so some upward mobility is ideal. See: 265lph Fuel pump and 850cc injectors. How much is the stock intercooler gonna restrict me when it comes to boost?
