  1. Nice! I also got stop tech rotors and pads and steel braided lines. I also replaced the lower control arms. It ended up being a pain in the ass because one of the bolts had seized and I had to replace the whole hub assembly. I even took it to a professional after not being able to remove the bolt and they couldn’t remove it as well, hence why I replaced the whole hub assembly. Otherwise, it’s an easy fix, but I live in NY, home of the rust. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Also check your bearings! That’s usually the culprit, especially if it is biased to one side of the car. If you turn right and it shakes, then it’s the bearing on the left side. It will get worse over time. If all else fails, like in my situation, then check your rotors. My case of wheel shake is super rare since it was vibrating whether or not I applied the brakes. Maybe my calipers were sticky and slightly rubbed against the rotors, I honestly don’t know. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. I had vibrations on my 08 Outback with 100k miles when on the highway. I had multiple wheel balances from different shops. 2x at Firestone and once at pep boys. They couldn’t remedy the problem so I took it to a specialty auto shop and got a road force balance which applies a load on the tire as they spin to more accurately balance the wheels, but The car still shook at 55-70mph. One of the issues about wheel balancing is that they only spin the wheels 30-40mph, which will not mimic high way speeds. Keep in mind I have new bearings, bushings, and axels. One day I replaced my rotors and pads and the vibration magically disappeared. I guess it didn’t matter how many times I got the wheels balanced, it was the unsprung mass that spun with with the wheels. I noticed that the rotors were pretty worn and had some valleys worn into them. I hope this helps! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Everything stock but wheels: 245/45 18" with +30 offset... The rear tires are being chiseled by the fenders... I have rolled one side with no difference in rub. I think I may have to angle grind where the fender meets the body since that part cannot be rolled. Definitely need to get a camber kit. I'm looking into the BC Racing coilovers (for ride height and dampening adjustability) for the Outback, but it will be a while before I can afford that plus rear upper and lower control arms, new bumpstops (or can I just remove them since I will have coilovers?), and rear trailing arm. Am I missing something? Thank you guys for posting your set ups with id #s... it really helps!
  5. Did you have no muffler, the 4” or the 5” muffler? I also read that having the vibrant bottle neck resonator helps with highway drone. I’m glad I brought this up!
  6. I've only seen it a few times at night. I can tell that the owner has gone through at least 2 plastidip/vinyl jobs. The first time I saw it was a horrible matte orange and it looked cheap. Although after viewing it last night, I noticed it changed and had a nice/rich metallic orange. I haven't seen it in the day time, but it looked really good in person at night. I was surprised as well. I wish my Outback had the exhaust cut outs on the bumper. Unfortunately, it seems I will have to settle for the turn-down style muffler deletes from Nameless on my 3.0r Outback since I'm not willing to dish out almost $1000 for the Legacy bumper, nor do I want the exhaust hanging below the bumper. Has anyone tried cutting out the bumper to fit a Legacy styled exhaust? I've never seen it done. https://shop.namelessperformance.com/subaru-outback-xt-turn-down-axleback-exhaust/
  7. kzr750r1 Can't wait to see the new bumper! I want one as well. Check out this orange Leggy that I ran into last night in Brooklyn as well as another Legacy earlier in this year.
  8. 255/35 is pretty wide, I hope your rims are 9” wide! Make sure you have enough offset to clear your suspension as well. My 245/45 with 33 offset was pretty close to the spring seat. The wheel installers were quite surprised that they fit haha
  9. I finally got some new rims - 18" XXR 530s Matte Black offset +33 and 8.75" wide paired with 245/45 Potenza RE760 Sport. I love them. The 245/45 are fat and fit the wheel width pretty well. I was looking for a flush fitment from the new wheels, and they seem to poke just a hair. The rear fender is cutting away the tire after a road trip with a heavy load, even though I have the original Outback suspension, which is a huge disappointment. I'm buying a fender roller kit for $60 on amazon, which is cheaper than the local shop... $80 for just that back 2 wheels! UNFORTUNATELY... the new wheels shake at highway speeds. I had them rebalanced twice at two different Pep Boys and a third time at Firestone. No one could fix it. I bought hubcentric rings, have the conical/tuner lugnuts for the XXRs, placed the wheels on carefully using the star pattern for the lugnuts. I have new front bearings and axles. After I rotated the front wheels to the rear, the shaking moved from the steering wheel to the rear of the car, so I know it has something to do with the wheels. I called the distributor of the wheels (NLMotoring.com) and they said to get a road force balance, which I've never heard of but it seems like the next best idea... which is a wheel balance that simulates driving. Hopefully that fixes it Here are the before and after pictures, the image of the original wheels were taken with a DSLR, the other is with an iPhone :/
  10. Hey RAWR. Watch out for your inside clearance with the 18x9 5x100 +45 with the spring perch in the front and the struts in the back. I run a 18x8.75 +33 245/45 r18 and it’s a close fit. But then again you may not have to worry at all with the legacy size tires. By the way this is my first post ever on a car forum. I’ve been reading this for over a year now and finally decided to make moves and buy new rims last week and I’m so happy. Next move is to get Outback spec bc br coil overs with swift springs (with the appropriate Legacy parts like rear UCA, bumper stops, and white line rear camber kit).
