  1. http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php?t=64133 Post #14 - The Megan Racing hogzaust
  2. The fog light mod is only for if you want to be able to turn the fog lights on and off independently of the other lights. If you disable the DRL's correctly, the fog lights will still work just like they always have.
  3. I'd be willing to bet it is. Do your headlights and parking lights all come on during the day right now? If so, it's probably the same thing. The '05 and '06 models only had the headlights on (no parking lights) during the day. You could always be the guinea pig and try it out...
  4. Yep...you have to disconnect that Blue/Black wire. That will keep your parking light DRL's from coming on and keep the dash light off too. Right now with only the Brown wire disabled, you have the main headlight DRL's off but your parking light DRL's still light up automatically so the dash light stays on.
  5. Odd. I think I would reconnect that wire and cut the Blue/Black one instead. If the fogs and highs still don't work, you may need to check your fuses.
  6. Make sure the white connector is plugged back in fully. Sounds like it might not be pushed back in all the way. The brown wire should only disable the DRL headlights but keep the DRL parking lights on. The fogs and high beams should still work.
  7. I saw some stuff like it at Walmart when I was there earlier this evening in the automotive section with all the other sealers and adhesives. It comes in a small cylinder and says it's steel reinforced putty. I'll probably pick some up tomorrow so I can finish this up.
  8. Here is the stock Legacy cutoff shield. The hole to fill in is highlighted. I haven't decided what to use to fill it in with yet. (Sorry for the crappy cell phone pic) http://users.adelphia.net/~dametzg/Legacy_Shield.jpg
  9. I'm working on this retro right now too. Is this hole in the stock shield the rectangular hole below the main cutout? I was assuming the hole to fill was above the main cutout in the shield because the glare that shows up when you don't fill the hole is above the main beam pattern when the lights are on. However, the only hole I see to fill in the shield is below rather than above.
  10. Probably not. This program is meant to be a bonus for the people who want to be a member of these associations. The 6 month minimum is most likely to keep out people who are just looking to save money on their car and don't care about the organization that they join. I doubt Subaru would want to be able to give this deal to everyone so easily.
  11. The program changed recently. It is 2% under invoice now, however most of the sites have not updated their info to reflect that. I got mine for 2% under invoice through Leave No Trace (http://www.lnt.org) last October. I thought it was just for invoice as well, but when I got my paperwork it all said that it would be 2% under. I asked the salesman at my dealership about it when I went in to order the car I wanted and he said he would call and check on that. He called me the next day and said the program had indeed changed and I would be getting the 2% under invoice deal. You can also check out this document here: http://www.legacygt.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=24228&d=1157857078, found in this thread: http://www.legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php?t=42194 . Joining one of these organizations puts you in the "VIP Partners Program" category of that document.
  12. That's right...they're the same. I used the VIP program to get my car back in October. It was really easy and straightforward. I joined the Leave No Trace program early last year. Leave No Trace offers an introductory membership for the first year for only $15.
  13. You have to remove the bottom panel on the driver's side underneath the steering column. Once you get the panel off, you can see the module here: http://twinke.com/Pictures/DRL/DRLModule.JPG That is taken from the driver's side floor looking towards the firewall and slightly up (the white connector with the blue/black wire is already disconnected and dangling in the foreground in the pic).
