  1. Update : Spoke with the service manager he has informed me that the engine block has also broken, and that he is awaiting on Subaru Corporate to decide what they want to do. In the meantime I am stuck with a rental car that I am paying out of pocket, they said they would reimburse me 50 a day but to when is anyone's guess.
  2. I just received an email from Subaru of America representative she has informed me that a Subaru engineer will be taking a look at the vehicle as a result of the failure of the vehicle within the next day or two.
  3. Many thanks for that information, do you think that there will be any stipulations being at the vehicles of 2018 and I noticed that the PDF covers up to 2017 model legacy?
  4. I have a 2.5, the vehicle was towed to a Subaru dealership in Avenel. I doubt that this was road debris because how would road debris managed to work its way up there and we'll have to go around the shield at the bottom of the engine. And I can assure you I haven't hit anything on the road.
  5. I am even more confused by the 10 year 100k as stated above, Subaru told me its 60k Power Train. And yes I put that many miles commuting 100+ to NE Philly but that commute has now ended, my commute now is much shorter and is now in Delaware however, I do use the car to visit family and friends which are not around the corner. If anything I will save a few miles still and I am going to be getting a used car to offset some of the miles. I am stressed out waiting for Subaru to do something I have no way of getting to work after tomorrow afternoon.
  6. Remember the dealership has to make a profit so naturally you will be receiving an offer much lower than what the vehicle will be sold for. I rather sell the car privately and get the most for your dollar.
  7. I am starting to lose faith at Subaru the build quality is definitely going down. My last legacy had problems so did my ex-wife's outback and now this car has this issue, like what gives man. All three of these vehicles haven't even reached a hundred thousand miles and have had problems. Other problems I have had with this car: Moonroof rattle Driver's seat squealing like a bad mattress * 2nd seat installed Passenger side door plastic trim rattles Trunk area rattles Windshield upper corner when it's really cold rattles so does the rear window around the seal.
  8. Greetings Everyone, My 18 limited is at a Subie dealer in NJ while traveling for our thanksgiving get together with my parents., we heard a small rattle at an intersection as soon as the traffic light went green I accelerated and heard a loud explosion. The car was inoperable and we safely pulled over, I popped the hood and chunks of metal fragments were scattered towards the back end of the engine it appears the torque converter had a catastrophic failure. I managed to get safely home however my car is now 100+ away. I am awaiting to contact Subaru corporate because the dealership can't look at the car until Monday before they can determine if I can get a loaner or rental car, the problem is I have no vehicle to get around and need to be at work at the base @ 1730hrs. What would cause this to happen on a car that just hit 1yr of ownership mileage is at 44,768k. Attached is a picture of just one piece of the metal fragments. * going back and forth with corporate to authorize a rental car.
  9. A quick little update so the dealership service manager has informed me that he still waiting to hear from the Subaru engineer. In the meantime however this morning I took it upon myself to further investigate, it seems to me that there is a rubber accordion in our moonroofs if I play around with it I can replicate the sound so it's too early to tell if this is actually was causing the issue in my case but I went ahead and removed it and I will do a little trial and see if this is actually what is causing the issue, I also tightened the T25 hex screws on the moonroof.
  10. What ended up solving the problem on my car was to completely replace the slide rail assembly, the problem could be temporarily fix by greasing the rail as a member here had posted previously and I had commented on but that is only a temporary fix.
  11. I'm being honest with you I haven't had a single vehicle that I previously on the header moonroof rattle this is a rattle that gets louder at times and is constant
  12. LOL all I know all about it I work close to Roosevelt Ave NE Philly commuting 100 miles every day from Delaware, so the car is being QC Checked Daily LOL don't worry LegacyGT Community I will do all the testing for you guys and gals Here's an uploaded video that I recorded recently with the moonroof rattle. - - -
  13. I am having this exact issue and had the service manager look into it , according to his own words he says that he was going to contact Subaru and should receive a response within two days. I hate yet to hear back from him. There's been other issues with my 2018 that have recently surfaced, and I am really starting to wonder if this will be my last Subaru, it seems the build quality is going down .
  14. Turn off bluetooth once the phone has been unplugged , then reboot phone and reconnect USB cable this usually fixes it sometimes might require x2 times but this happens to me on and off and just doing these steps fixes the issue on the go. Hope it helps
  15. :Update on this thread: Taking Arlo's suggestion, I decided to put some industrial grease purchased from Ebay Mobil AW2 on the sliding rail pointed out by Arlo, as well as the actual rail for the seat. And after a week of driving I can confirm the issue has now been resolved no more squeaking for me. Thanks Arlo.
  16. You have a youtube video of how them air horns sound like that's a riot.
  17. I thought you nailed it tried your suggestion, and the noise did dampened but it's right back might just unbolt the entire seat when the weather is warmer and mess with it in more detail, however thanks for your suggestion it did make a difference.
  18. I am excited that they are bringing back a turbocharged engine, the interior specially that head unit is very pleasing. I do wish however that Subaru will do a little better job with the exterior styling of the vehicle it seems that from concept versions of the cars they are more appealing to the eye. However we don't purchase these vehicles for eye candy we are Subaru owners for a reason and that's because of the handling and performance.
  19. I too am having this issue, so is the issue the seat itself or the seat bracket and or the seat belt harness?
  20. Anyone using a Samsung Galaxy Note 8 I can't seem to figure out how to get the car to recognize the phone and play songs from it. It does recognize the phone for android auto and that is now working normal, I just would like the head unit to recognize the phone like an ipod so I can play my stored music.
  21. :::Update::: Replaced front driver side wheel speed sensor problem gone entirely. -- Previously had changed the gas gap with a brand new OEM one, Changed fuels, Had dealership check and run test nothing seemed to work. Had been told everything from the fuel cap not properly sealing, to ECU is acting up, ABS pump not working, ehh turns out it was in my case the wheel speed sensor
  22. Hello everyone, new to the forums and I am in need of your help. I have a 2013 2.5i legacy limited that is experiencing the solid check engine light, flashing brake, and cruise control. This now my 2nd occurrence with this issue, the 1st time the problem went away when I replaced the gas cap with one from Advanced auto parts and I thought the issue was resolved in the past two months that had gone by. Today while driving to work the car was fine and then out of nowhere the same issue returned. I pulled over shutdown the car and re-tighten the gas cap and the problem persisted. I visited AutoZone on the way home from work and had them do a data port readout and I am showing the following codes: P0700 = Transmission Control System P2750 = Intermediate shaft speed sensor ****Update**** I decided to try one more time to re-tighten the gas cap and the lights have now cleared. However I am concerned about the codes that showed up and this issue occurring twice now. Do I have a transmission problem? Or what else is going on with the fuel neck inlet? Thanks, Josh
