  1. I think they got your car done or almost done today Carlos. There is a simply unbelievable amount of stuff that has to come off to get the clutch in there. I had to go before it was all buttoned up, but the ACT clutch was in, and they were just about to reattach the tranny when I left.
  2. Your brother is right across the street from me. I'm on the other side of Bouquet in the houses off Susan Beth. And quit hatin' on my wife's car It ain't the prettiest thing on the road, but it's a nice car and I think ours looks pretty good sitting on dubs: http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y207/Pisadong/P1000937.jpg
  3. I know Michael (your car's former owner) from this forum. He's a good guy and he treated your car well. He's got a BMW 335 now... the lucky bastage! I actually know exactly where you live. I used to work for a home delivery company, so I drove all over town in my work truck. Saw your car parked in the driveway and knew it had to be Michael's old car. I'm over in Saugus, off Bouquet Canyon, just past Haskell Canyon. As for the clutch install at Yimi, there's always about a 50/50 chance I'll be there hanging out. If I am, I'll be sure to lend a hand.
  4. BTW, since you have the clutch now, either have Harman Motive do the install (their primary tech Adan is a Subaru Master Technician and VERY good at what he does) or if you don't want to schlep it down to Torrance, bring it over to Yimi.
  5. I've seen you car before. In fact I'm willing to bet you bought it used from someone I know. Do you have Enkei wheels?
  6. I'm not doing as many installs now. I prefer doing suspension work and tend to shy away from heavier duty stuff like clutch installs that are much easier with a lift. I'm sending a lot of work over to my buddy Paul Yim who owns Yimi Sport Tuning in town (Santa Clarita). He's a great guy and all his work is quality and reasonably priced.
  7. Pm Jsalicru. He is a member of this forum who does installs on the side. Good guy and he does good work. I believe he is in the Temecula/Murrieta area.
  8. Ya, add Yimi Sport Tuning in Santa Clarita. Paul Yim is the most honest mechanic I have ever met. His labor rates are more than fair and they truly care about their customers. Paul is a friend, but I knew right after meeting and talking to him that he is a super straight shooter.
  9. I've been using Final Charge Global. It is made by Old World Industries which also owns the Peak brand name. Final Charge Global is another 100% phosphate and silicate free coolant. It is very likely the exact same formula as Peak Global. I just used it because I found it more easily than Peak Global. Wallyworld and Pep Boys both carry Final Charge Global. With regard to the Subaru coolant additive, it looks to me to be nothing more than small expensive bottle of Bar's Leaks. I think Subaru started specing its use when some of the early 2.5L motors had weepy head gaskets.
  10. Nice Jose. So you're trying to say I don't just torque everything till the bolts snap off... huh... who knew?!?!? Edited for typos that made my post just about incomprehensible
  11. So you discovered that the rear lower bolts are a bitsssshhh I could have told you that! Still, I've done quite a few spring and coilovers installs and I usually only fight then for 30-40 minutes or so. I can always pop them loose with a 24" breaker bar, and I'm only 165lbs. Just a lot of grunting involved. If I wasn't so cheap I'd get a better air impact gun and just spin those lower nuts like nothing. The rest of the job is only about a 1 hour affair with a bit of practice.
  12. I'm probably cheaper than the next guy, but I cannot believe that people are falling all over themselves about how great AN EXHAUST LEAK SOUNDS! If you look up ricer in the dictionary, intentional exhaust leaks have to be right up there with cut springs and 3 foot tall aluminum wings...
  13. You really do like to spend too much money, don't cha? With Random you are buying the name. There are a plethora of other metallic substrate cats on the market that are priced much better and are functionally identical. With regards to the other questions, the debate of whether a divorced DP or bellmouth DP is better is an old one, in which no one has ever really proven any substantive differences. IMHO, in sum they are equivilent. As to customizing. No. This is a production piece, not a one-off. I've told Megan Racing what I believe the vast majority of LGT owners would want in an exhaust and that's what they are building. With homogeneous production comes lower costs. You can't have your cake and eat it too. The MR system is 100% 304 stainless and 100% mandrel bent, fully 3" throughout till the y-pipe when it splits to 2.5" pipes. Ground clearance is very good. My car is lowered and I did not scrape the bottom of the car with the stock catback, and I still do not scrape anything with the MR exhaust. BTW, even though I live in Sunny SoCal now, I grew up in Toronto, so I know about winters. In the end, I think people will buy what they like best. While I think the MR parts are the best value on the market, I can't get on people for buying other more expensive brands because they want to. Some people find value in a $300 pair of jeans, when you can get jeans from a lesser brand for $30. Is one 10x better than the other? No, but if there is something about them that you find worthwhile, then go right ahead. Same goes for car parts.
  14. MRSP will likely be around $1000, with a street price a couple hundred lower. Yes to everything on your list except the cat, and the donut gasket. I believe the DP will have a flex section instead of a donut gasket to give it some flex, but allow better fitment with other aftermarket catbacks, if one so chooses. They are still deciding between going with a bellmouth or divorced on the DP, but both designs work equally well. If you want a cat, take all the money you saved and buy any of the metallic substrate cats out there for $150 and have it welded in for $50. Voila, catted TBE for $1000.
  15. And here I was thinking the whole point of an aftermarket exhaust was to gain power... silly me... We all just need to leave our mufflers loose to gain some noise! That's what it's really all about! For me, a little more noise is fine, but if I could get an exhaust that was silent but made appreciably more power than stock, I'd be all over it.
  16. So what do I and Meier Motor Sports get for being right? I'm sorry, but the second I saw that this thread was started by our beloved Hogboy, I knew it was going to be something stupid... Sorry...
  17. That's what I was thinking. Did that in my cousin's 325is 11-12 years ago. We thought is was cool then, but then again we were 18 or 19 years old . There is no way any kind of real catback will sell for $200. Muffler deletes or something like it... maybe... a real catback... no way.
  18. There are pics of these wheels on my car, as well as on other people's cars all over this site. They are clearly "inspired by" the Volk CE28's, and I believe that they are available in bronze, but only in 17" and 18". Here are a couple links to my pics, but you will easily find others as well. http://www.legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3717 http://www.legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php?t=11116
  19. Well, since we now have a photoshop of my wheels on another car, I guess I'll toss the OG version in BTW, nice car there Legacy05, although the wheels are a little bigger than in the photochop. 19"x7.5" Arospeed/REV Model II, hyperblack, 45 mm offset. 225/35/19 Falken ST-115. http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y207/Pisadong/109-0931_IMG.jpg
