  1. I think you are correct based on the Ascent. I was told the Ascent was getting 330 on 93 so extrapolated from there. However looks like the testing shows: Stage1 93 Oct. Peak Gains: +8% HP / +14% TQ Max Gains: +21% HP at 4400 RPM / +21% TQ at 3800 RPM Stage1 87+ Oct. Peak Gains: +5% HP / +3% TQ Max Gains: +9% HP at 4400 RPM / +9% TQ at 3800 RPM So on a 87+ tune that is 23.4 or about 284 total. 93 tune is more like it (over 300hp) but I'm not going there. If it improves the driving experience, comes with multiple maps I'm in. But first, let's see if it comes out. Thank you for the post and time you put into that.... My only experience with "boost" was with Roush and a SC is different. But 700 crank and 500 wheel at 5280 ft was amazing.....
  2. They keep telling me it is coming so I have hope anyway. Would love to try it on TXT. Numbers on the Ascent look good. Stage 1 is fine. Not sure what the final numbers will be but looking forward to giving it a try. Hopefully perhaps tighten up the motor/CVT "relationship" a bit... Thanks for the post Stage1 93 Oct. 3. Thank you for the advice. Here are my thoughts.... 1. The FA24 is a very well built motor. I don't think I'll come close to over doing it (see below) 2. Cobb typically has an Eco, 87+ and 93 map. I'm going to do the 87+. (Stage 1) Probably go from 260 to 290 or 300 HP. The 93 is rated at 330. 3. I'm not racing or doing anything nuts. The car will be driven as designed. 4. Agree on the CVT. I suspect the map will change the way the motor and CVT integrate which is a good. It is slushy now. However the CVT is the weak point. Let's see what Cobb releases and I'll go from there and report back.
  4. "I'm excited as I can't really do much in terms of performance on the car to not void the warranty, so why not make it look more aggressive?" My dealer says I'm good to go if I want to add the Cobb tune/Map. (They have one already for the Ascent). It is in the works but who knows actual market date.
  5. Anyone replace the front grill emblem on a 20/21 yet? Thing is the size of a small billboard. A black one would look better I think... Is it the good ol 3M tape exercise?
  6. The readout on the dash stays about 25 where my widget is at 27+. I only have 250 miles on the car and I am taking it pretty easy on break in with a 50% max throttle limit. I drive 35-55 with brief interstate (75) jaunts. Coming from a full size SUV, I'm ecstatic but another tank or two and I'll do the math at the pump and a reality check....
  7. I have the Subaru rubber / winter type mats but they are not really up to speed. Trunk mat is great however and middle row is fine. Ordered Weathertec for front. Also noticed a really nice option in the car. The back of the rear seats is rubber/mat type material. Makes sense if you have the seats down and are hauling something that may harm the typical carpet that is there.....
  8. Thank you. Yeah, I'm stuck. Not sure even who to call as it's probably my issue. The PC works great and the error makes no sense as my connection is fine. I'll try another laptop or see if my dealer can help me out..
  9. I'm constantly adjusting volume and changing stations etc so it does not bother me but it is a "gimme" you would expect to see in an "upgraded" system so to speak.
  10. Looks like my map versions don't match so I'll update. I did register thank you.... Actually when I open map updater, I try to log in and get "server error, check your connection". My connection is fine.....
  11. Another reason I was impressed with the car. My trade (Lexus RX350) had the same thing. It is very quiet in the car. Another reason is the upgraded stereo. I tend to have Sirus on whenever I drive. I looked at same models but also RAV . Camry was a good choice but to get the larger motor I had to lose AWD and that is not happening. Actually I think there were a couple of cars like that. I wanted a little bit of scoot but AWD as well. Comes in handy in Colorado. It does not seem to review particularly well but definitely drive one.
  12. Thanks.. Dealer told me that Subaru is working on a OTA (over the air) update process. And quite frankly, this is not exactly high tech, companies have been doing it for years. But anyway... Is there a spot to check your status or do you just wait for an email?
  13. Hey guys I have a 21 so probably no update needed but when you guys are performing this are you just parked in your driveway and connected to your home wifi network? I see the wifi selection on my car menu and I hope this is the tech they use vs say USB...' Thanks!!!!
  14. Pilot- I looked at Outback Onyx real hard. I think I'm fine in the sedan and the Outback Touring was starting to get pricey. Subiefan - I get tint today. I mean you can't have a black car w/o tint! Hopefully grab a pic or two just for fun. Almost went gray for just ease of care however already see spider webs! However the design is pretty basic so black made it pop a bit more. I don't mind washing and waxing a bit.
  15. I remember seeing it but I'm still going thru all the customization. It is a good stereo suitable for Sirius etc. Not fantastic but I would say 7 of 10? Dang sure better than base but not near my previous stock Mark Levinson. But that's fine. I need music in the car, not an audiophile experience. I got that at home (lol) I did see this listed as well for a 21 Touring XT with the HK: 576 watt harman/kardon surround sound system w/12 speakers, 3.5mm auxiliary input jack and front dual USB input ports Radio w/Seek-Scan, Clock, Speed Compensated Volume Control and Steering Wheel Controls
  16. Got a micro USB so I can have another music choice and not block that small storage space with a full size one. Got a trunk organizer as well. Pleasant surprise as I noticed the back of my rear seats are rubber vs carpet. That will be great if they are down and I'm hauling something. The windshield debate was going on a few years back when I had my 17. Needed a new one and my insurance provided a Subaru one. On #2, Safelite came out with an after market. I did not even get it calibrated, it worked fine. This purchase the dealer warned me about after market windshields etc (they have coverage for 1000 bucks) and my insurance company says its no issue, we cover that. The dealer was adamant they have had multiple problems with after market products, insurance companies and I bet they have. However I did not buy the Subaru plan. My insurance company stated they insure thousands of Subaru's and all is good..... I know they partner with safelite..
  17. "Sorry, we can't fix it" does not seem like an acceptable answer. Would be great to see a pic if you can upload (size, format?). I love the seats but I have yet to really travel and that's the true test. I think they are 10 way, keep trying settings and hopefully you find your optimal setting.
  18. Been a few years as I was in a full size SUV. Not needed at this point so went shopping. NX300, Volvo, RAV etc etc. I know my dealer pretty well (this is car #3, Legacy #2) so looked at the Legacy again. Reviews are so-so, JD Power I saw is not sure about reliability but I think for the value+ safty, it's hard to beat. Also the WRX motor adds some much needed pep (now I just need a tune lol). Lacks a bit of refinement but all the creature comforts are there plus some pep. Today is organize day and Starlink customization. Friday is tint. I got black and after originally thinking gray. More work but with the brown leather, it looks nice. Good to be back and looking for little mod ideas here and there and of course any advice from members. Kinda a shock from SUV to sedan, but it feels good after just a day. Had 5 miles on it...I'm going to top 25 today! Smells funny but that's just new. I also got to remember to keep my foot out of it for 1k or so. Thanks in advance for any comments or tips.... I can't possibly read every manual but I got thru the 50 page "quick start".... (I guess I can't change my user name which is now dated? But what the heck, that was a great car back then too)
  19. Drove up and over Trail Ridge Road (11,500+ft). took some great photos. Saw lots of Elk and spent a few days in Grand lake. 3.6 does great up inclines even with little O2. Modern technology. I look forward to a longer road trip soon...
  20. Just a quick follow up. This 2nd windshield is not OEM. Fuyao/solar/Acoustic/DOT. It was cheaper too so I think insurance opted to save $. Oh well. Looks good and ES does not mind so far.... I guess it's Chinese (the horror!) but I guess it's not exactly an off brand either: General Motors, Ford, BMW, Honda, Bentley and more all use Fuyao glass in their newly manufactured automobiles. When top of the line auto glass is required then Fuyao glass is what’s needed. The dealer won't like it but that's fine.
  21. I hope luck stays on your side Rowlette. As for me, everywhere I go for the next few weeks (months?) I'm going to be paranoid. I won't be tailgating any trucks, that's for sure.. (not that I would anyway)
  22. I have heard of the de-icer / crack issue and since my first episode was near that area, I went to the dealer. However I was over ruled as it was deemed an impact. The next one was definitely an impact that within an hour grew to over a foot long. The previous windshield replacement is stamped "Subaru" on the lower LH corner I believe. I assume my new one today will show same. I just want to go a year (+?) w/o a 3rd repeat.
  23. I think when you read about guys losing a windshield then you lose two in two months it tweaks your logic. First one I had no idea it even happened. Just noticed it the next day. Dealer said they could see a "very small" impact mark. I had to agree. The one a couple days ago sounded like a gunshot. No idea anything hit my windshield. I was looking all around trying to figure out what happened. Then I noticed the large star (pic above). I hope I can at least get to 2019. Colorado is known for debris, sand, small rocks etc on roadway probably accumulating through the winter. New glass coming Friday....
  24. The cost on my receipt was 369.00 for the windshield (OEM) and 135 labor. I did not expect a OEM but I guess Safelite uses them due to Eyesight.
