  1. Here is a article that touches on your question: https://www.torquenews.com/1084/subaru-says-goodbye-all-new-legacy-australia-will-us-be-next
  2. We have had 60 degree mornings and -15. The car rocks for a heater I think. I would like to verify if the Touring XT has electric heaters...? I have had to go from 68 to 66 but essentially seats on level 1 and manual temp on 68 handles all environments. It heats up quick and the steering wheel heater works well enough the gloves stay in the trunk. I have a couple gripes but the HVAC system is not one. Defroster works well to.
  3. I'm in Colorado which seems to be the home of Lexus RX350s and Outbacks. I have not seen a XT since I got mine in November.... I just hit 1900 miles oh boy.....
  4. I'm in Colorado. So for we have seen 60 and -15. I leave the seat warmer on 1 and the HVAC on manual 68 fan level 1. Have not touched it in weeks.
  5. I use Android. Since November of last year has never lost pair or had an issue. I know that does not help but wonder if model, settings etc make a difference.....?
  6. If you push the volume button the radio/ volume will be inoperative when the screen goes blank. If you touch the screen you will see most of the icons missing with the exception of the bottom a/c type controls which still work. However, go to Settings-general (I believe) and "screen off". If you have your radio on, you should notice the volume still works. No icons if you touch the screen though so what station etc is hidden but then again, the screen is off. (You can always move the station display over to the center by the tach though if you wanted......) Try both w/ radio on and see what results you get...
  7. Recklass.... Understood. I really hope you find a happy medium with the technology. I am fortunate enough to have enjoyed quite a few cars (old and new) and enjoy them so if every time I got in this one, if I was just waiting for something to go sideways it would drive me nuts. The auto stop and CVT kinda bug me but I'm accepting that as "part of the car" and it is not much of a bother. However if I daily had some minor irritation that would drive me nuts too. Last year I had the pleasure of owning a fully restored 1970 Mustang. Now that "technology" was interesting to say the least. Have a great New year.....
  8. Reckless- I get where you are coming from but this is more a matter of perspective. I'm the guy who bought this car as it is new, no worries, free service for the warranty period etc. The LAST thing I want to do is work on a car. Some enjoy it - I don't . At this point (and I hope there are others) I have not had any issues especially now the auto stop button is right on the home screen. I had two alternatives to the XT but both 10K more. So far (fingers crossed) at all of 1K miles, we are good. Good news is, sounds like we are both happy....... happy Holidays..
  9. I wonder if that button is re-programmable? I just saw a close up of the Levorg's radio and they have the Navigation button in place of the Auto Stop Start. The start/stop icon is on the other side by the car icon. Where your screen shot shows te Nav icon mine is blank ..... Never saw a icon there on any model...
  10. I see "chirp" threads back to 2016, most attributed to the CVT however the actual cause is debated. I don't hear a chirp at all but that does not mean it's not there...lol (old ears). I'm not too pleased with throttle either and am learning how to drive it. I have the throttle/pedal % on the screen (widget). 35-40% seems the smoothest. Lower and you get a brisk take off followed by what feels like a shift into 4th. Manual works great btw. Or if you are 50%+ it does not leave the power band as quick. I'm hoping there is a correction and I know that is part of Cobb's map but not everyone whats to install a map.
  11. I would check to see if your replacement is OEM or aftermarket. I never had any trouble with either but Subaru will tell you never go aftermarket due to Eyesight and calibration. Or at least my dealer (finance) made a big deal out of it at the point of sale. Mostly because they sell a package to cover it. My last windshield was aftermarket and no issues at all.
  12. 1. Mine starts fine but also gives a little vibration maybe three seconds after it turns over. I have wondered what this is. It is only on cold starts as well. The whole car never shakes or anything like you describe just a start then a 2nd deviation in rpm. Not a shake but I notice it. 2. Mine does not have the Chirp option. Goes straight into gear and off I go. Does not sound "normal" to me. 3. No way I have heard of to disable that. It happens a lot here in Colorado- almost every day. My previous car did it as well. However not sure what you mean by "full screen". Mine beeps and a notice appears between the gauges on the dash. That disappears pretty quick and a icon appears down by the odo. Easy to ignore at that point.
  13. Absolutely. They most likely have multiple ratings and/or testing results based on this feature being active. However you have to place your hand an inch from the "button" to shift out of park so now it is pretty much automatic. Most times I turn it off but not always as it is not that annoying depending on the trip.
  14. Good to hear... Audi has always been on my short list. Damn good cars..
  15. So I'm told the DSP and other things such as CarPlay, Microphone as well as the start/stop button was changed. Quite a few things on the tech bulletin. There is some info out there if you Google Subaru Product Campaign WRI 20. Its a recall so everyone will get notified and elect to have the dealer do it if you like. I'm liking this immediately..... Magnetite TXT- Dealer did mention some fixes to screen and audio quality.... BTW, this was super easy. Dealer did not even pull the car in. Just plugged in a flash and 20 min later I was outta there.
  16. I know there has been a few threads that touch on this on this and some speculation as to who will do what and what it may include. Since I have new info, I thought I would throw out a thread. I called the dealer and they did say they had a new update and to come on down....They typically do all updates for customers per request. It installed in about 30 minutes. And woo-hoo look what showed up on the home screen. I am still experimenting as the dealer did not have a detailed write up on changes.
  17. I know- I own them. Somehow though, I get by. I was just poking at the previous comment. Point being, to each his own. However quite frankly, I wish they were a deeper brown as well but I wanted the options...
  18. I agree. I have not heard anything and have inquired a few times. I can push it as I know them pretty well and have one guy I work with but you are right, they don't seem to be aware when updates are available. My issue has been I can't seem to get the update- "server not available" pops up. If this is really out there, I want it. Auto stop is annoying at best. Especially at certain times. But regardless, I want to apply any infotainment type updates and I can't seem to get them from the web.
  19. This would be welcome. I am writing my dealer as we speak to see if this is verifiable from their aspect. Let's hope so.
  20. All vent seats in my experience are not very good. Even in Lexus. You can hear the fan and the air is ambient. And for goodness sakes, stay away from the "ugly brown leather" lol.
  21. I know this does not help but for what it is worth, the heated wheel works outstanding. I have used it a ton already. My Lexus had it but at 10 and 2. This one seems heated from 2 thru the bottom and back up to 10. Meaning only the very top stays cool. I also like where they placed the switch. Can't be much more ergonomic than that....
  22. The ride is arguably the best quality of the Legacy I think. Then features (Touring) and then hp at 260. Longmont, not Ft. Collins but sounds like you are connected just fine.. Good luck. Let me know what you decide and why......take care....
  23. I agree. Already sort of a shame to have a FA24 on a CVT but by design it's a mom and pop car. Hopefully they release. I was in touch just last week and was told it's a go but we won't know till it's actually out. I have not heard of the Ascent issue but it does not surprise me I guess.
  24. Thanks All. Zen- Drive them both and see what you think. The Forester I drove felt good and the integration between the CVT and motor was top notch. That lacks a bit on the Legacy even though it certainly has more pep. Im still breaking in but crossed 500 miles so a little more throttle can be exercised (in my plan anyway) on the way to 1K. I'm getting about 27.3 mpg as well. I looked at Outback of course but traded in a full size SUV as I don't really need that much room. If I can haul 5 at times, I'm good. Me and grand-kids +1. Also saved a bit of cash on a Legacy Touring vs Outback. Deals can be had as they are not as popular. I have a good relationship with my dealer too. If you want to compare shop I'd be glad to give you my guys name who I have bought two Legacy's from. Have a good day....
