Make sure that all PCV lines and connections are not clogged.

I had a similar issue. Verify that the factory T at the turbocharger still has the boost restrictor pill and it is in the correct spot.

Should be in the side coming directly from the compressor. That corrected my issue. The PO replaced the vacuum line not realizing it had a restrictor pill in it.

Originally put it on the wastegate side, boost increased, but still almost 5psi off. Then I installed it on the pressure side, and the boost has been good ever since. Good luck!

Definitely seems fuel pressure related. My first thought goes immediately to the fuel pump assy ( filter mostly )

What condition are the plugs in?

Probably damage/obstruction to the rack and pinion. I would start there if you know the pump is good and the belt is tight.

Infosecdad, I have used cosmo coils in all my Subarus, have not had an issue thus far. I too bumped voltage to upper 14's, no issues. All electronic parts that handle 12volts can usually take 15 or 16 volts or more before failure.

Drop the downpipe and inspect the turbo, has that been done?

If that noise is coming from the transmission, you might need a trans...

With it not moving and in neutral, only certain things are rotating, the center diff is not one of them. Max is leading you the right direction, see what causes the noise to change and report back. I agree with 08SpecB, I have heard many noises, that one is horrible. Was there any noise leading up to it? Good luck

Both injectors are probably 565cc, I believe factory injectors are good to ~280 ( boost is relative to the turbo )

 

If you are staying with this turbo and HP range then it won't really matter. When you go bigger injectors, the disadvantages of the sidefeeds become apparent.

 

If you want to upgrade injectors, I would talk with a tuner, they will help guide you to make sure you don't buy the wrong parts.

 

Not sure what turbo you are referring to, but most of the jdm options are better than our turbos and should flow similar to STI turbos.

Your top feed injectors are 565cc and are preferable to side feed for numerous reasons. I am not sure what size the blue side feeds are.

 

Yes, an intercooler will allow you to use the STI style turbo. Did the engine not come with an intercooler?

 

The Cobb AccessPort V3 can do all of those things. To do it yourself you need to take a $150 efi class. If not, any tuner can use the AccessPort to remove the emissions checks.

Got around to replacing the reverse cable finally. It's nice to be able to hit 5th and 6th without being careful.

On that note, very easy to not adjust it correctly, the wife can hold the collar up while you make final adjustment.

Looked at putting the rear diff inserts in, nuts were too rusted and I don't have a 6pt wrench at the house.

Same question! It broke it where it bolts to the turbo! Lolz

Been running with Morimoto led fogs that were brighter than the headlights. Threw on an Innovited HID kit and adjusted the headlamps. Everything is much better, and they really compliment the yellow LED fogs.

Reverse cable came in, PO installed the short shifter... Got the newest revision, looks nothing like what I have besides the length. Different material and it actually has a boot on the exposed cable by the transmission.

Sometimes when the car needs to learn, cleaning the throttle body helps if it is dirty. Good luck

Didn't catch the 2.5i!!

I have a strange oil leak like that, after cleaning and inspecting, it appears to be the Oil cooler gasket. Check to see if it is dry near the base where the oil filter is. The air blows the oil all the way along the oil pan and back to the trans. I thought the valve covers were leaking, just the cooler gasket!

Unless you track the car heavily, you are wasting money. I use Hawk HPS 5.0 on all 4 corners "blue" fluid lmao, grimmspeed master cylinder brace and SS lines. I slow the car down daily from 120+, and it will put you in the windshield. Most important part is bedding the pads and rotors / good tires.. Good luck!

The leak or the grommet?

 

The grommet was out, I could usually tell by the temperature difference at my feet. After the 2nd one... I started just checking it.

 

Do you have a driver's side fender liner? That usually keeps the water out regardless.

Every Subaru I have acquired this was an issue.. crazy lol

There is also a grommet that goes into the fender that some don't put back correctly after running cables etc.

Either that or a windshield or sunroof issue. Good luck

If it idles normally with the sensor unplugged, the sensor is sending bad data to the computer. Would definitely get an O2, Amazon has the best prices on denso sensors.

I would try cleaning the throttle body first.

I read that somewhere too, I doubt that's the case, I just can't understand why I had to use lowering springs in the front, AND factory springs with a 1/4 lift spacer... Crazy!

Wouldn't it be faster to just drop the downpipe? You can check the turbo and verify the wastegate is closed, no cracks etc.

I have the fronts on HD's with new mounts on pinks

Rears are HD's with new mounts and rubber on Spec-B new OEM springs with a 1/4 lift spacer...

 

Looks and feels good now, not sure what happened from the factory lol

 

Has settled a hair more in the rear than the pics.

 

Last pic is with all new HD's mounts, rubber and front and rear Spec-B springs ( all from the dealer, the PO installed)
