  1. I have both mount is hand, 20370AG00A (GT), 20370AG000 (Spec B). I cant tell the difference. They look identical.
  2. I appreciate all the info. The car I'm looking at appears to be an '06, which would mean the ECU and other electronics are different with my '05. When I see the car in person I will know 100%
  3. good call will do that. anything I can spot when looking at exterior and interior photos?
  4. There is a parts car a few hours away and I need it to be a 2005 so all the electronic components match my other cars. I think the 2006 has mirror headlight housings, but that's all I can think of atm.
  5. I'm hoping to find a torque converter in San Francisco, Northern Nevada, Los Angeles area or anywhere in between. 2005-2007 Legacy GT or Outback XT Thanks!
  6. SOA parts catalog and local dealers have the same part numbers for GT and SpecB front top hats also. We know they are different. Other online sellers of Subaru parts list different part numbers as stated above. I'm just gonna order 20370AG000 and be done. I'll report when I take everything apart. Max, thanks for looking into it!
  7. I'm getting a spec b suspension together and ordering parts. I'm aware that the shocks and the front top hats are different than the typical Legacy GT. There question is, are the rear top hats different? Thanks!
  8. The part numbers are different 20370AG00A (GT), 20370AG000 (Spec B) Is there also a difference comparing them side by side?
  9. How about the Cobb 524220? is 524212 an older version, O2 before the cat?
  10. Is there a downpipe with 2 o2 bungs available for the automatic 05-09? Thanks!
  11. Your ECU is fine. If your ECU was bad, the car would not run at all or ran very poorly. There would be visible damage to the circuit board. I've replaced and coded an ECU, you will need the same exact number. To code the ECU is a complex process on its own...
  12. All I can tell you that the front LCA bushings are identical between BL/BP and 08+ WRX, so that cross member is not ruled out yet... 2007 and older WRX/Forester are different. 2nd gen Legacy is also different.
  13. please explain. All pulleys are identical between 5EAT and MT
  14. I always take the tq bolts out trough the hole covered by the rubber plug on the top of the engine. no special tools needed.
  15. ....another thing, since the OBXT is 2005, to keep things simple you want 2005 LGT. 2006 will be ok also. 2008 and 2009 have different heads and emissions, it will be more work.
  16. There is no catch. The engine and all accessories are identical between the 5EAT OBTX and Manual LGT, only difference is the wiring harness under the intake manifold, cuz the AT wiring has different plugs for the transmission. The wiring harness is somewhat attached to the manifold and its easiest to keep them together. You will be installing the LGT wiring + manifold onto the OBXT engine. The other parts you will need from the LGT is the flywheel and clutch. That's it. Very easy swap.
  17. BL/BP ECU is not capable of running the FA/FB engine. At minimum, the main wiring harness, ECU, BIU, gauge cluster and keys had to be swapped over... The engine mounting / cross member is the easy part. The issue is the electronics and wiring.
  18. I'd like to hear more info on this. What chassis was the engine installed in, which ECU?
  19. Legacy Outback is called a Legoback around here, haha
  20. Same thing in my area. We call it the Subaru breeding ground.
  21. just find a manual turbo legacy with blown engine and use the good engine from the OBXT, no VIN number or wiring issues. if you really want to use the 09 NA 5MT chassis, and keep it manual you will need a manual donor car to extract the ECU and all related electronics from. Keep in mind that after the ECU swap the VIN in the ECU will not match the car, so you will have to address that before you smog it.
  22. You will need to swap the entire car's wiring harness, under the dash, engine harness and so on with all computer modules and related components, gauge cluster, keys, etc. Then the transmission, engine and related parts. If you need to smog the car, the VIN number in the ECU will need to be reprogrammed. If you decide to go the dealer route, you will need to purchase a new BIU, or get very creative with eprom programming.
  23. if your car has a manual transmission and you feel adventurous, you can install a '04 STI ECU and wiring harness, there is no immobilizer...
  24. there is no unique code. the key, cluster, ECU, BIU are sync'd. cluster, ECU, BIU have eprom chip where the data is stored and the key has a RFID chip.
