  1. I got a wiring harness from OP to make my fogs DRL. So now I have a nice crisp led DRL (my fogs) but I still retain full high beam functionality.
  2. Get the morimoto xb led type t fogs. They're for Toyota's, but at the very bottom of the list of vehicles it fits, you'll see our cars. It's a complete housing so there's no glare and the output is great.
  3. Thanks man! I did use plasti dip on my grill. Not just the edges though. I had to do the whole thing.
  4. I really like that style. I think if they're in pretty much perfect condition, then go for it. If not, use it as a haggling point if it's an acceptable amount of blemishes. Either way try and knock it down $100-$200.
  5. Scored these off CL. They're off a 2012 WRX STI, and the tires are 245/40r18. Going to be getting a set of 245/45r18 in the upcoming weeks. If anyone cares, I use Chemical Guys tire dressing. It's some good stuff that doesn't look too greasy or anything. http://i707.photobucket.com/albums/ww76/ticonderoga16/IMG_0728_edited-1_zpsvf3g9qve.jpg http://i707.photobucket.com/albums/ww76/ticonderoga16/IMG_0732_edited-1_zpswyuwslzw.jpg http://i707.photobucket.com/albums/ww76/ticonderoga16/IMG_0729_edited-1_zpsfyleplja.jpg http://i707.photobucket.com/albums/ww76/ticonderoga16/IMG_0734_edited-1_zpsh5tiikht.jpg
  6. Finally got around to getting an updated mounted photo. http://i707.photobucket.com/albums/ww76/ticonderoga16/IMG_0731_edited-1_zpscukadfmx.jpg
  7. ^^^ Sounds like you just got a lemon, which really sucks.
  8. No problem! You'll absolutely love them. My recommendation is to try and mark on the wall with some tape where your stock cutoff is, then re-aim the HIDs once installed. I had to lower mine just a smidge because I didn't want to risk blinding anyone. It's SUPER easy if you haven't done it before. If you want to know how, let me know and I'll snap a pic of what to adjust.
  9. Yep! I even made a walk through for it. http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/diy-hid-plug-and-play-install-w-pics-260572.html
  10. That's quite possible. Doesn't bother me though since you can barely see the horns from the front anyways.
  11. Here's all I've got for now. It's snowing here, so my car is staying garaged while we drive the wife's Impreza around. Once it's nicer out in a few days, I'll get a couple good pics! http://i707.photobucket.com/albums/ww76/ticonderoga16/Quadzilla%20Install/IMG_0697_zpswovwwf1i.jpg
  12. This walk-through won't be as in-depth as my others (sorry). I was too excited to get it all installed to take a whole bunch of pics. If anyone has any questions as far as wiring goes, just let me know! So this is my homemade quadzilla. I found their price for the bracket and wiring harness absolutely insane, so I decided to make my own. The bracket cost me $8 to make, and the wiring harness was essentially free. I used one of the wiring harness that came with my HID kit and re-purposed it for this with minimal effort. I decided to go with two pairs of sharptones solely because they were a little cheaper. At the time of purchasing, two pairs of sharptones were $60, and two pairs of supertones were $80. Things you'll need for the bracket: 16" aluminum bar Drill with 3/8" drill bit Angle grinder/hacksaw/cutting device M8-1.25x20mm bolt ratchet with 10mm socket 1/2" open ended wrench Thing's you'll need to wire the horns: Relay 16 guage wire In-line fuse holder w/ 15 amp fuse Misc. electrical connectors Wire crimpers/strippers/cutter Optional: Heat shrink Soldering Iron All four of these horns combined only pull 14 amps, and a standard automotive relay is typically 30 amps. If you were to do four Supertones, they pull 22 amps, so one relay will still be fine. If you go that route, I'd recommend beefing up the wire to 14 or 12 guage wire. First off, drop your bumper. It may be possible to do it without taking it off, but it is much easier with it off. http://i707.photobucket.com/albums/ww76/ticonderoga16/Quadzilla%20Install/IMG_0693_zpspelzsdrh.jpg The horns come with these ~3" metal bars on the back, but you'll need to remove them. This is where the 1/2" wrench comes in handy. Beware, these suckers are TIGHT. It took some serious muscle to get them undone. An impact wrench would've made my life a lot easier. Then, make your bracket. The bar is sold in 36" increments, so you'll need to cut it. I made mine as narrow as possible and was able to make it 16" long, but you can make it up to 24" long and still have it fit in the grill. http://i707.photobucket.com/albums/ww76/ticonderoga16/Quadzilla%20Install/IMG_0695_zpsqqmhyvqu.jpg http://i707.photobucket.com/albums/ww76/ticonderoga16/Quadzilla%20Install/IMG_0696_zpsolzyeywt.jpg Double check and make sure it all fits nicely and fits in the grill. http://i707.photobucket.com/albums/ww76/ticonderoga16/Quadzilla%20Install/Untitled_zpsmlw5f0ua.jpg Figuring out which connector and which was positive wasn't easy. They're not labeled and there's nothing on the box, I tested a horn with my drill battery, and it honked regardless of which connector was which, so I'm unsure if it really matters. In the picture below, the connector on the right side of the horn I used for ground. Wire all your horns together. All I did was use the female spade connector one size too big, twisted them together and crimped it on, followed with some heat shrink. http://i707.photobucket.com/albums/ww76/ticonderoga16/Quadzilla%20Install/IMG_0705_zpshwuuc2ld.jpg I left the final ends open ended until I got the relay in place, then connected them to the relay. Next up is wiring your relay. Using a relay may seem a little complicated at first, but once it clicks, it's very simple. http://i707.photobucket.com/albums/ww76/ticonderoga16/Quadzilla%20Install/Wiring%20diagram_zps5z1uxezj.png A regular male spade connector fits in the stock horn plug. http://i707.photobucket.com/albums/ww76/ticonderoga16/Quadzilla%20Install/IMG_0700_zpsyhryik57.jpg Right next to that is where I grounded the relay. http://i707.photobucket.com/albums/ww76/ticonderoga16/Quadzilla%20Install/IMG_0699_zpsgpuhmtbv.jpg Here's where I grounded the horns. http://i707.photobucket.com/albums/ww76/ticonderoga16/Quadzilla%20Install/IMG_0701_zpstu0xgtlu.jpg
  13. I have no idea. I was asking about the switch for someone else on the FB page. He was asking about the kit, but I directed him to install some Morimoto fogs and piece together the rest of the kit. EDIT: Upstater, those morimoto ones don't work with our cars even though they're the "subaru" ones. Our cars need the "Type T" ones. It's funny because in compatible vehicles, it lists a bunch of Toyotas and at the very bottom is our car.
  14. Scrup, Did you ever try using the SRF switch instead of the regular one? It's so much cheaper!
  15. Let us know how that muffler sounds if that's the route you go. I'm looking for something to replace my OEM muffler with something a little more aggressive, but not obnoxiously so.
  16. Looking in my service manual, the radars appear to be in the lower corners of the rear bumper.
  17. It'd be pretty easy to pop off your mirrors and check! Just make sure you really look to see if a harness is there because mine was hidden. Was it an option for your year?
  18. Any tips for using a tap? Never had to. Seems really straightforward though. Just lube it up and screw it in slowly.
  19. That's what I'll do eventually. On base we have a hobby shop with car lifts and a plethora of tools and we can rent a stall for $5 an hour. Once I get my new exhaust in, I'll fix that too. Were you able to reuse the bolt or did you need a new one?
  20. I'm 6' and weigh 155, but I'm flattered you think I'm overweight <3
  21. Lessons learned for next time! I just miss working on my truck. Was MUCH easier to be under there. http://i707.photobucket.com/albums/ww76/ticonderoga16/14311378_1440249436004714_292546838882902188_o_zpshuhnhmvm.jpg
