  1. I completely understand and respect the legal issues, not downing you at all. I just find it comical. If I were in the area, it wouldnt stop me from going
  2. Just gotta say this... No alcohol because of underage peeps, but bikini's contest... Thats just funny to me, am I alone on that?
  3. I have to agree with you there. My wife just got a new Lexus and honestly, the Nav/bluetooth/music/etc is much nicer and better integrated than my CarPC solution. For my next car I will be looking for a totally integrated system rather than a CarPC setup. The technology/availability has become much more accepted in recent years. For our 05-09's though, CarPC was/is king.
  4. Nice and cheap... Not saying it wouldnt work, but considering it all goes through USB, I would think that there might be some lag time/delay. Thats a lot of info to be pushing through USB and processing a touch interface at the same time. But hey, technology has come a long way.
  5. Pretty sure other people have used that screen. And even if not, it looks like it'd work perfect. Shouldnt have any problems with it. Good luck!
  6. How much for info relocation kit?
  7. That's what I did when I built mine... Now, I did mine QUITE a bit differently than most people do it. I chopped up the LCD surround quite a bit, but it was to make it smooth rather than like in your picture where you can tell where the screen bezel is. The way I did this was... I got both parts ready, used glued popsicle sticks on the inside (the part that is inside the dashboard) to hold the screen bezel in the exact position I needed. For the actual molding part, I used "Dynatron". It's a polyurathane bumper repair kit. Mix 2 chemicals together (like epoxy) and work VERY quickly to form your screen onto the car bezel. It WILL take 4 or 5 coats, dont try to glob it all on at once, just layer it, sand it, layer it, lather rinse repeat. Reasoning for the Dynatron was this: I was going to use fiberglass and bondo, but I had read a lot of posts that people mentioned they experience cracking and chipping within a few years. Dynatron is semi flexable, and will not vibrate things loose, and will not chip and crack after years. It was actually very nice to work with, and bonded extremely well to the car bezel. That was another point of possible issue, how well the fiberglass and bondo would adhere, and not loose that adhesion over time. The biggest factors of any proper looking build are this: Time and lots of sanding. Also, make sure you take the screen out of the bezel before you start (cant remember where, but I recall someone that just taped over the screen and tried to do this kinda stuff... wasnt pretty).
  8. Just FYI... not sure why you're paying more for the tethering option... I have 2 diff HTC phones (TP and TP2) and I have never had to pay for tethering. I'm not sure your exact mods, but the phones can tether in stealth mode. Besides, why the heck should we have to pay more to use the phone's data connection that we are already paying for? We shouldnt, so I dont. Havent had any issues in 2 years and I tether almost daily. The data connection your phone uses is NO different than the data connection that is used to tether, its purely a gimmick that the cell phone companies try to take advantage of you with.
  9. Gratz... I'm talking to infamous at the moment about getting a tune, hopefully I'll be running quick again soon
  10. YAY!!! Finally got ECUflash to work. I wasnt using 1.29, I was using .34, .38, .42 and nothing... Found out I should be using .29 and bam, it worked straight away. THANKS!!!
  11. Blasphemy... I've gotten it to work great with the logger, but I keep having problems with the ECUFlash. Not exactly sure whats happening with it all, but I'm going to wipe my laptop and restart all this stuff sometime to see if that fixes it.
  12. The hockey player says... "Don't PUCK with me..."
  13. To really F things up, you need a ... lol
  14. your so punny it amazes me...
  15. I actually just ran the monitor straight off the computer power. Works perfectly and turns the monitor on when the computer comes on. I dont need the monitor for backup camera or anything though, so thats part of the reasoning I did it that way.
  16. I run 4 Just need graphics cards, monitors, money, all that jazz... I wouldnt be worried about running dual touch screen monitors, I'd be more concerned about actually finding a piece of software that can work well with it. I know RR (roadrunner/riderunner) has some good support, I think some ppl have used dual monitors on it. But whatever the case may be, it would be cool to see what comes out of it.
  17. I just made mine this past weekend... Pretty nice and I didnt have to cut the stock airbox at all. Not bad I think.
  18. Finally finished my full carputer install with bezel. Here's the link with updated pictures. http://www.legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php?t=93487
  19. I've really been enjoying the Tatiana Vanilla cigars... Sure they are flavored cigars, but they're damn good... Tastes like your eating vanilla ice cream, have it with a nice whiskey and/or whiskey and coke and its just like drinking a vanilla coke. mmmm...
  20. Yep... Some ppl have done that as well, or if they dont have the SpecB, they will order the nav unit faceplate for the cubby and do it that way. The stock system has its limitations, and some people want more than it offers. I would be fine with the stock setup, but I do like my carpc as well. Its a give and take thing
  21. I think someone had it working, but the resolution of the stock screen was pretty junk because they couldnt get a VGA hookup, they had to do it through the composite video. So just that alone would make it problematic for me personally, not even counting how difficult it would be to get the touchscreen part working.
  22. That sucks... Not working on my end either. I'm eventually going to switch to a rackmount setup for my server, possibly get it co-location hosted so I dont have to buy a T1 line for my home, let an offsite place deal with all that That was probably the cheapest deal I've seen anywhere, and it came with almost all the internals, not bad at all.
  23. Wouldnt have to lie if it was true, get everyone to chip in a few bucks ROFL
  24. New bedding, much needed appliances and kitchen amenities, etc. And again, she'd kill me if I bought it But if it was a gift lol
