  1. Hey, grnlantern, I'm actually having my transmission replaced as well. Is there anything I should be watching out for when they're replacing it? Does it drive normal after replacement?
  2. How does the trunk strip look? I was interested in that as well.
  3. I didn't realize the sti came in 17 inch wheels. That's a start to my research. Thank you.
  4. I have a legacy with the front brembo brakes from an sti. Is there a stock subaru rim in 17 inches that would fit, or does it have to be an 18 inch wheel or larger? I'm trying to look for a winter wheel that would fit as well as get a larger sidewall. Thanks for your help everyone.
  5. That's a different part number than what was originally stated on here. I've tried looking up that part number and i can't find anyone in the states that sells it. Where can I get this?
  6. I had to return it, if the bar is curved on the ends, like the part number mentioned here is, then it most likely won't fit. I'd love to hear otherwise though. Let me know how it works out.
  7. I'm positive it was the correct bar and I'm sure I was doing it properly.
  8. Does anyone know the part number four the cusco front strut bar for the 6th gen?
  9. Do you have the part number for the front strut tower bar from cusco? Do you also know if it'll fit a 3.6? I don't know if they're different or not.
  10. I should clarify that I'm using the sti rims that are 18x8.5. I'm using the Michelin pilot sport as 3+ tires on 245/45/18. When replacing these tires, I would like to go to a bigger sidewall...I'd even like to get a wider tire but haven't found any. What I found was 245/50/18 which was the continental dsw..
  11. Anyone have 245/50/18 tires on their car? I'm looking to get those, but don't know if there will be any issues with the stock suspension, rubbing issues..anything negative really. I currently have 245/45/18. Thanks all.
  12. I have the 4 caliper brembo brakes on a 2016 Legacy. Would the 2018 sti rims fit over those brakes? Im currently using the 2017 sti rims in 18 inch but wanted to go to the 19 inch.
  13. Yes, it does need tuning. I used Matt (throttle happy) for the tuning, really changes the car in a great way. As far as sound goes, there is slight sound just from having the headers in, it's not overbearing in any way and only comes out really at full throttle. This is my daily driven family car so I don't want it too loud, just more fun to drive.
  14. Not a great pic, but you can at least see them. Im hopefully going to continue the exhaust build until the mufflers. I'm not sure I want the car to be any louder. Still trying to work that out.
  15. Finally got the headers put in with high flow cats and the tuning along with it. Best things you can do to this car...hands down. If you're looking into getting this done, it's totally worth it.
  16. I must have looked like a crazy person to the dealer because I was sitting in the front while they were driving it, I'd hear the noise and tell him there, there it is...I had them drive over different roads, we switched driving...I did all I could to recreate the noise. I did notice that the noise was more pronounced during the morning, colder hours. I know it sounds crazy, but the dealer indulged this and kept it overnight to drive it first thing in the morning and there it was. For me, it was driving in a straight line over bumpy(not big bumps bc that will overpower the sound) first thing in the morning when it was cold out.
  17. Yeah man, I'd be curious to see what it could be for you. It sounds exactly like what I had.
  18. I totally understand the frustration and agree with you. I hope they can at least pinpoint the issue for you. The parts had to be ordered which took a while and were on backorder. That was fine by me, as long as it was in the works to get fixed.
  19. After the rack replacement, the noise did come back after a while. When I told them that, they took it in and replaced the front strut, I think on the passenger . When doing that, they found that the subframe was loose in certain areas, they didn't say exactly where though. They said they tightened that up and I haven't experienced anything since.
  20. So far so good. I haven't experienced any sounds or rattling since the dealer did what they did. I suggest if you are experiencing those noises, that you tell the dealer you have heard from others that are experiencing the same thing and the suggested fixes have worked. My dealer was willing to work with me since they heard the same exact noises I was complaining of.
  21. The shop that was recommended doesn't do the necessary welding. I'm waiting on the catalytic converters to come in by Monday hopefully and I was recommended a local meineke to weld everything in.
  22. Yes, same ones. That's when they were able to get more in stock.
