We must be living in parallel universes . Or maybe IS-F sales are very seasonal, and this is the low season. I just tried autotrader nationwide, under 60k miles. There were 3 '11s and 3 '12s under $40k - and by "under $40k", I mean that only one was less than $36k. 3 in the mid 40s for mileage, 3 in the 50s. The cheapest '14 was $49.9k.
I hear the rear legroom is worse than regular 350 IS models, and that's already pretty tight, so maybe I wouldn't want it anyway, but if you can point me to a '14 model with 30-40k miles in the mid 30s, please let me know.
I suppose it is seasonal, because they're almost all gone now. There were a few on some of the forums as well. Rear legroom isn't an issue for me anyway. I get sedans because I like the look of them over coupes. The rear seats in my GT are unused. No kids or pets in our future.

What do you consider "decent" mileage? And where are you finding '14s for high 30s
For a Lexus, I'd say anything under 40k miles for a '14 is decent. Add 15k per year sooner (figure I'd do a '10 with 100k on the clock). Honestly I'm finding everything on autotrader, cargurus, etc. Granted I'm only looking at mileage vs price, so I can't say much else about the condition, but mid 30s seems to be the sweet spot. Plus it's not like they'll get more expensive in 2-3 years. Time is working in my favor.

I cross shopped the s4 with the lgt, but finding a good s4 was waaayyyy harder.

[emoji854]you guys suck. Well I've got 2 years to save for it

You're kidding yourself.
The ECUs on those are pretty locked down, I've read. That should keep me in check. Plus we have a miata to play with now[emoji1]

'11-'14 Lexus IS F is looking good. Decent mileage cars going for mid-low 30s with '14 models going for high 30s. I've committed mentally and financially to owning one in about 3 years. Not to mention that all I'd want is a muffler delete, lip, and diffuser.

So it's pretty much exactly as nebulous as I thought. Great. I guess I'll shop carefully going forward? I'm already doing it with the LGT as far as my mods are concerned.

What are the laws concerning bringing firearms from other states, given the new restrictions? I live in WA now but will be moving down to Los Angeles in about 2 years? Sorry if it's a newb question.

The goal is to get her there. We're going helmet shopping after the holidays

So I was talking about the Mazsaspeed miata last night and explaining to her how that one has a turbo from the factory. She asked if one can be put on ours as well. This was supposed to be the cheap car...

Can I come play with you guys? 2000 with 112000 miles completely stock.

I'll sell you mine, You just have to ship it. NA 114K 1.6 miles all services done. And in the best color, Smurf Blue. Also checked the nose crank bolt and it is perfect. I replaced it with a new OEM one just in case when the timing belt was done at 80K. New clutch as well.
Remind me after the holidays and I may take you up on that.

Howdy! So I'll likely be buying a Miata for my wife after the holidays (probably an NA maybe NB if the price is right). Since we all also own Legacys, is there anything I should know coming from our POV rather than that of straight up Miata enthusiasts? Basic maintenance doesn't scare me (I drive a 4th gen after all) and my wife is in favor of a manual and possibly HPDE or autocross.
P.S. if we end up with a 1.6 it's getting turbo, 1.8 could be a FI or stroker build. Not into swaps.

Really, all I want is the rear window/wiper. I've got a weird soft spot for those

I was cross shopping the lgt with an s4 of the same era, but finding one with the timing chain guides already replaced was hard as hell. I managed to find 1 manual wagon with it done already, but that fell through.

Loving mine. I've got the whiteline bushings for the hub, but otherwise great.

The Volvo V60 polestar is probably my dream car at the moment and probably the only car I would ever completely ditch the lgt for.
-
Was that you I saw heading north on 405 near southcenter the other day?
-
That's how I have mine set up. It's a little unsightly, since there's a vent that leads nowhere. I never see it though since I'm looking at the road, and passengers normally don't notice either. When I popped the bezel back on, I just made sure the vents were facing all the way down.

What time should I plan on arriving tomorrow morning and who should I look for?
-
MY EYES!!! That hurts to see

All I had to do was unbolt the control arm from the body in 2 places, swing it left, beat the control arm down with a mallet, swing right, beat it down with a mallet. Took me 10 minutes.
Edit: after loosening the pinch bolt of course. That took a little more work.

What time is everything going down? I may stop by after work Friday if there's time, but I plan on being there all day Saturday
