  1. For sale are two items, gently used and acquired thusly from a member here. Picked this combo up and found the faceplate for the top AVO piece to be a little too biffed for my ocd liking. The HVAC portion is unblemished. To make the Pioneer head unit fit flush, my assumption is the previous owner got aggressive in installing. I have installed a brand new combo of these same items in my wagon and there’s a slight recess (~1/8”) between the radio face and the AVO faceplate piece. Tried to get pics to reflect the cosmetic imperfection, it’s a small chip in the top left and a bit of chewiness on the edge of the top lip. I’m being as explicit as I think I can be, this unit is in great shape besides this blemish, and would be great for someone willing to overlook that or use it for a floating screen, diy gauge project, etc. The only cable included is the single one from mfr, iirc you will need several harnesses/adapters/connectors (i-88?)and a RHD jdm hazard button to complete the install. Check the forums for members making kits and walk thru’s. For the unaware, these retail about $300 on avojdm dot com, postage from motherland is another fifty. Bought used here for $250, asking same OBO plus shipping.

The Pioneer AVH-310 EX DVD Bluetooth head unit is also in gently used condition, will ship in new box from my replacement purchase. With manual and new cords included. My installer was kind enough to enable the screen for dvd while out of park, although I wouldn’t recommend that. The Bluetooth is great and brings your cabin into this decade. Mic for speakerphone, aux/usb cable for charging and audio, touchscreen with ‘display off’ option to drive without distractions. Has a decent digital EQ w presets and custom modes. I’m enjoying mine so far and get nothing but compliments from passengers. Retails new for around $300. Bought used here for $200, asking same OBO plus shipping.

Will consider package deal, not willing to separate the AVO pieces at this time. Brackets for head unit will stay with them, for purchase purposes. AGAIN: after denying myself this upgrade for years, I bought these here sight unseen bc they fly so fast. Pics were not uploaded to the PO fs thread. He didn’t break any rules and I’m not whining about it, just rather someone here benefit from my mistake. I’m reselling these as I replaced them with new identical parts to suit my ocd preferences. Prices are OBO.

  2. For sale is an unmarried Cobb Accessport AP3 Sub 002, picked up used from a member here. In my haste, I bought the wrong version for my model year. This one is specific to 2005/2006 LGT’s and OBXT’s. Mine is 2007.

Cobb case, one obd power cord, mounting cover and two mounting brackets incl. Paid $500 in Feb, asking $450 plus shipping. You can make this work for a later MY if you get in touch with Cobb support and upgrade the device for under two bills. I could too, technically, but other priorities atm.

  3. Take a personal inventory. You single? Young? Kids? Will the job have a commute? Save the dough you woulda used to get your Leggy carb-legit and get a beater for traffic. Keep WA plates on the Subie and open up weekend touring ability. Anything you like to enjoy can be found here. Skiing, surfing, hiking, fishing, wining/dining nightlife, incredible scenery, amazing breweries, and on and on….

To be sure, there are associated costs. Locally we call it sunshine tax. Gas stays around 4.50/gal by me in a close neighboring county. Real estate is insane. Groceries can add up. However, Solano county is not LA or the SF Bay area and is little more affordable. Very close to Napa/Sonoma wine region, hop skip to Tahoe, too many spots to name all doable on a single tank roundtrip.

I took the plunge here in 2010 and haven’t looked back. Got into my Legacy from a pickup to get further enjoyment out of coastal highways and general adventuring. Still feel like I’ve hardly scratched the surface. I say do it, keep an eye on your bank statements, and live a little.

  4. Went for a battery-charging cruise yesterday. All this bushing convo has me suspecting it’s a rear control arm in back needing replacement. Damn squeak is louder after adding sound deadening. My front lca’s were reported shot by a chain alignment shop a few months ago, no trust in their opinion/evaluation though. Been almost four years since my suspension revision so prolly due all ‘round. Oh joy. And while my battery karma is fine, it didn’t extend to wifey’s ‘20 foz touring. Totally dead last night, my jump box fully charged wouldn’t cut it. And yes, I woulda jumped it with my new batt if she wasn’t pulled in to a stall w folks on either side of her. So glad I don’t have the suite of electronic drains (power lift gate, keyless entry, etc.) on a modern mobile. 15 year old wagon ftw!
  5. Again, I know there is a new blue piece under there so better[emoji2369].

I'm sure I've used incorrect handling terminology throughout this post because I'm just a guy that likes to drive fast thru canyons

Like the write-up from an intuitive driver’s perspective on each successive mod. And bc blue is better. Positive my Cusco radiator shroud and strut tower bar are good for +3 whp.

  6. Maintenance day, rounding out my spring refresh. Swapped in a fresh battery, Bosch icon wipers up front, and gave her a mean wash n vacuum. My son is nine months today, def the cleanest the wagon’s been in his lifetime. Being a dad now, budget is everything. Shopped around for the new battery, debated Optima, Duralast/Diehard, and even Costco. Mentioned same last visit to dealer parts dept and rep said he’d give me wholesale on oem. Swung back by yesterday at closing time and got it on the house bc he’d already closed out his register. First time being a regular has paid off. Made my damn day.
