D’oh! Forgot about elevation. Bought mine w the back tinted all around. Added the roof and matched the rear wagon hatch when replacing back doors/wagon panel due to break-ins. IIRC, it’s 35%, no more than 30%. Been awhile. Here’s a daylight shot w water reflection to give a good idea of visibility. In the bay area, limo tint would only give the impression of endless cash and prizes inside so can’t do. Kinda would have liked to go darker tho. Having had an 08 outback w zero tint, def prefer this look and function.

After nearly a decade of ownership and forum involvement, I second your stance on saving engine upgrades until catastrophe strikes. ‘Stay stock/happy’ is an undervalued quote here. Seen so many w wild power goals do too much at once and shortly thereafter they’re listing their baby on the FS thread w a blown turbo/shortblock and nothing but contempt for the failed dream realization. It’s a quick arc for some. Do what you can and save the labor costs for that rainy day build. Soak up the wealth of experience shared here, this community is a rarity for its support of adult ownership. Suspension refresh/upgrades are what our cars need first to enjoy the power they have getting to the ground. +1 for jdm billies and pinks setup, have same on my wagon. You’re on the right track.

I modded my seat belt chime w age. That mf doesn’t make a peep anymore. Drivers side, anyway. Passenger diff story.
@310Z, the airbag recall was a separate work order from the dash. Unlikely to have been dealt with at the same time unless PO was scrupulous about doing both. And tint helps, but in CA the fishbowl greenhouse is a fact of life. I cover my front seats w white tees old man style just to cut a bit of the black leather heat soak. Doubt it does much. Seek shade. Really expected more from tinting the sunroof myself. At least we don’t have salt on the roads tho.

Money green ftw!! Careful, this will turn into a HW thread in a jif. I do have a sick ‘84 Quattro hatch but my son played me like a fiddle to get it off the shelf after Christmas. Somewhere getting battle damage rn. ‘S why dad can’t have nice things.

Bc bc. My wagon is my dream is my life. Jk. Everyone has said it all already. Those that get it, do. Last wash it occurred to me that I may have a handful of people that understand what my wagon means to me. I’m half on the fence about long term. Then I park after the wash and get a compliment. Makes it worth it.
I also happened upon a minty, zero mile ‘17 RS6 wagon. Seems smaller in person.

Minty Spec B. Congrats on winning the auction. Since I have a dgm wagon, in CA, w STI pinks and jdm Bilsteins, I salute your taste in mods. Keep on posting this beauty.

Replaced key fob batteries when wifey’s died. Might as well do both. Also just discovered that my VIN plate never got swapped w the new dash 3+yrs ago. Bummer.

Happy 2024, maniacs. Had thought of posting last wash of ‘23 or some such but life got in the way. Then so did a possum on the highway. Glancing blow, undertray seems the only casualty. I have nightmares about the insurance dance in a more significant occurrence. Best of luck, Infosecdad. Just look how Gex spun losing his RBP wagon for inspiration.

Looking good. +1 on sways and bushings to get better road feel on the suspension setup. When I finally did mine I wondered why I took so long. Vast improvement. Keep up the progress reports.

Vac hose popped off intake. Fixed, code cleared. Akebono pads, oem rotors and stainless lines going on as we speak.

On topic: threw a P0170 on my morning commute Friday morning. Dash lit up as I got to on-ramp. Couldn’t check code til I got home, unfortunately. Airbox is tight, filter only six weeks old. Took a shot at cleaning the MAF yesterday hoping that could clear it. No dice. Already had a brake inspection on deck this morning so the shop will knock this out first. Hopefully doesn’t stress the wallet too much as I’d like to get new pads all around and finally upgrade to Stoptech ss lines that I prolly got two years ago. Will drop progress report later.

I like Akebono pads, fwiw.
Years ago, in my attempt to oem+/jdm-ification update my ride I threw a search into fleabay for STI Legacy. Every so often results still pop up. Lobbing this link to provide inspo and drools. Family manification puts these out of my reach, hope someone else can benefit. Not affiliated with or endorsing seller. Shiny

I’ve been staring at the new filter in the passenger foot well for over a month. Long overdue. Drove another hour for work and an hour home, no repeat performance. Temps ranged from low 70’s at ignition to foggy and 60’s over a bay area bridge, then mid 80’s as I was spitting distance to Sonoma Speedway and into Napa. Chalking it up to old cabin filter, odd atmospheric conditions and running my heater for the first time in months last nite. Appreciate the prompt support.

Just got to work after an aggressive 30+ min commute, pulling in to oark had smoke from the A/C vent. Temp gauge looks normal. No noticeable smoke in engine bay. Burnt compressor? Anyone wanna weigh in? Smoke was whiteish w little to no odor, fwiw.

200k w an engine bay you can eat off of. Love it. What steering wheel is that, Booze? Damd round one? Looks similar dimensions to my ZeroSports but I don’t see a logo. Like the lack of buttons/distractions on the wheel w a dialed in dash. Keep on keepin on!

Heard a loud clunk when opening my sunroof last week. 2-3x. Once it registered, took a few days off of using it out of caution to not have it stuck open. Which made me realize how much I enjoy it. Applied white lithium grease today in abundance, and seems to have smoothed out. Thank the boards again, even omitting the site from search parameters brought up LGT.com results for the correct lube. Nice to have Legacy fam.

Did my JDM dbl din about two and a half years ago, I believe the dimmer hvac display is the universal tradeoff for modernizing the stereo capabilities. Fwiw, my dash instrument dim toggle works well but has zero impact on the hvac brightness. It stays virtually unreadable in the sun. It will dim more if switch turned down but it’s maxed out on bright level. Generally set it before disembarking and just hit the fan buttons as needed. No fun trying to finagle mode on the highway. As w most Legacy quirks, best to just turn up the soundtrack and enjoy the ride. Let’s face it, we’re not driving Teslas.

After handling an oil change interval I won’t admit to here, clean air filter and second round of Betterman’s fuel injector cleaner in the tank, my DTE currently reads about 20 more miles than previous standard. Small potatoes but CA creeping back towards $6/gal. Damn sunshine tax. Every bit counts.

The Vader wagon?!? Will he accept beskar steel? Very curious what such a fine example will fetch.
