  3. I drive a 300+ hp 3.6R (yeah they actually can gain significant power lol) but I am really curious as to the performance and reliability of that new fusion. I have heard from multiple sources the 3.5 Ecoboost is a problem child and hope this one is durable. It looks like a more livable version of the Focus RS (which absolutely terrifies me because of the complexity of that AWD system)

The 3.5 EcoBoost is actually pretty reliable. I have a friend that has swapped turbos and is pushing close to 500hp in his F150 SuperCrew and he works on them everyday. He's actually the one that convinced me to seek one rather than go with the 5.0.

The 2017 Ford Fusion Sport is a V6 Ecoboost @ 325hp and AWD. Solid power upgrade over the LGT and pretty comparable all around, including on price. Ford's website says it'll be available this summer. There's also the Taurus SHO, which is a larger power upgrade, but comes with a lot of extra weight.

If I'm looking for something at what the LGT's price range was brand new, my first stop would be the '17 Fusion. If the Fusion doesn't do it for you, then you're probably going to have to be ready to spend more or get something used.

Or... you wait another year or so to see if Subaru actually brings back a turbocharged Legacy to the States.

I agree, the 2017 Sport is the one I was eyeing just a few minutes ago. I haven't driven one of those, the one I drove was the Titanium 2.0 turbo and about the same ballpark as the Legacy but I wasn't quite feeling it as I was wanting the Legacy.

  4. That's what I was kind of thinking. That custom fab is cheaper. I've never had one done before. How much did they do for $600?

Mid pipe to the mufflers with a resonator in the stock-ish location. If you aren't doing headers or the collector then building a catback for a 3.6R shouldn't cost much more, if any. Full header-back with a WRX pre-fabbed catback that needs customizing, that will be a lot more work and money.

  5. Woah, that's not too bad at all. That's like exactly what I want haha.

By all means, go for it! That's why I put up part numbers. It turned out great, sporty and not too loud, zero drone when cruising, mild when going up hills, but I always downshift and run a higher rpm anyways and it sounds great.

  6. Fun fact regarding replacing the stock BPV: It used to be that in the winter time, when colder than about -10C, I couldn't reach more than about 13 psi even at 93-octane stage 1.

With the Mach2.. no problem. Its target boost at part throttle, easy. Also, the BPV seems to get louder as the temps drop, for whatever reason. Good shit.

I noticed this too, I get a nice report when shifting now. McLovin' it.

  7. I've got a Just-in-Case that has a tow strap, jumper cables, a few tools, first aid kit and a bunch of fuses.

I did get complimented the other day from a girl when I pulled into the gas station, she said my car sounded really good. She drives a newer Impreza 2.5i and had just installed her Rally Armors, she was pretty proud of that! I thought it was awesome.

  8. Have you dialed the preload spring all the way in (stiff) ? I found it was loudest at about 1 full turn out from full pre-load. No compressor surge even at full preload so I went with loudest :)

Right now it's cranked all the way in, no surge. I'll have to try the 1 turn out, I like a little bypass noise!

the ones who are running the GFB mach 2, are yall running the T9133?

    Yep that's the one!
