  1. So my wife and I welcomed our first child into the world a month ago. It has been a crazy few weeks but overall has been an amazing and life changing event. I know some people don’t like to bombarded by baby photos from new parents so I will keep it to a minimum. I know I’m not super active on here but I generally spend at least a little time on this forum everyday and you all feel like good friends so I thought I would share. 4. Has anyone tried the group n front strut mounts that fit our cars? https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01EKBAFY0/_encoding=UTF8?coliid=I1OSUZQA1GBPUB&colid=26A1RG5QVOYFM&psc=0 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. It doesn’t seem lower but maybe it is. They looked fine when I installed them on the struts but I went to fine tune them this morning and thought they didn’t look right. So you think I should pull them off and replace them? If so with what? New OEM, KYB? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. They didn’t look like that before install. They looked normal I guess. No bulging. Here is a pic of the old ones... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Do these top hats look normal? Brand new Monroe installed last week with my Konis. I can’t remember if the OEM ones looked like this. Thoughts? They just looking like they’re really bulging to me and I don’t know if that’s normal or not. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Finally prebuilt my front Konis after buying them a year ago. Let hope things go right tomorrow or Sunday and I can be riding on Konis come Monday! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  11. So I happen to have one single extra Koni front strut insert that I must have purchased in my haste to find a pair. If anybody wants one single insert PM. I'll sell it for a decent deal. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  15. Any more information on the new konis Gteaser? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Understandable. If you read through this whole thread you will see that many of the problems associated with the CVT have to do with a bad bearing design in the 10-12 model years and was correct for the model years following.
  17. The CVT is much easier on fluid than most automatic and manual gearboxes. In previous posts in this thread you can see that one member contacted sellers with high mileage CVTs many of whom had no problems in 200,000+ miles and never had changed the CVT fluid. Some elect to change the fluid anyway but there is no concrete evidence that this is necessary unless you tow or are experiencing problems with your CVT. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  18. Correct. The CVT is examined to ensure that there are no leaks and if none are found then you are good to go. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  19. Thanks for the feedback jeffmazz! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  20. This makes me nervous. In the coming months I was planning on buying 2014 2.5 Premium with 50k miles from a friend and now I'm second guessing whether I should or not. Damn.
  21. Was there any jerkiness before you had the CVT drained and filled?
  22. Do you know if your neighbors have done any fluid changes on the cvt?
  23. Here are some. http://www.cars.com/for-sale/searchresults.action?feedSegId=28705&rpp=50&transTypeId=28115&requestorTrackingInfo=RTB_SEARCH&yrId=51683&yrId=34923&yrId=39723&yrId=47272&yrId=27381&stkTypId=28881&PMmt=1-1-0&zc=50010&rd=99999&mdId=21378&mkId=20041&searchSource=SORT_USED&crSrtFlds=stkTypId-feedSegId-mkId-mdId&pgId=2102&sf1Nm=miles&sf1Dir=DESC&sf2Nm=price&sf2Dir=DESC The first two are errors but the other ones are good. At one point there was one with over 400,000 miles.
  24. Man that sucks. Did they say what bearing it was? This is really the first I've heard of any problems with the 2013-2014 CVTs. Hope things go well for you in whatever you choose though.
