I'm in Hailey, ID which is kind of the middle of nowhere. https://goo.gl/maps/h9xYd7tNdqVi9Yo8A
I'd be shocked if there were a Subaru specialist shop within two hours of here.

Not gonna lie, my dealer charged me 125 bucks both time on my cars about 5 years ago, I brought in NGK plugs. I ran after I paid that cheap price lol. I used to do all that, but now that I have got older and have busy kid and making a few more coins, I take it to the trusted shop.
$125 is great, I would pay that all day long. But I'm in a new area and don't trust any of the shops yet.Â

Did plugs and cylinder 3 coil pack. I don't know how some of you do it in under an hour. It was a pretty legitimate battle. Coils were a piece of cake but spark plugs took everything I had: every 3/8" extension, wobble, universal, deep socket, 12-pt -- the works! Hardest by far was the #3 plug: shitty access and long-term heat damage.
And... the plugs I pulled were Denso branded and gapped at 0.040-ish.
And my wife asks why I don't take the car to the shop for these things...

Loose coil pack connector? Coil pack connector clips tend to fall apart over time which may result in poor electrical connection. I use zip ties

Well, I really hope it doesn't come down to changing out the engine harness.

Also, 304k miles!Â

Cyl 3 misfire at high load/high rpm after doing passenger side valve cover gaskets. Ugh.
Overdue for plugs anyway, but any other ideas on what it might be? Could it be vac lines under the TMIC? Also, my oil leak wasn't from the valve cover gaskets. Ugh x2.

It's gorgeous. I love the details.

Yeah forget the covers at this point. The car is going to be apart a while.
Figure out what the problem is. Renting a borescope probably a good start to figure out why tf your spark plug looks like that. Compression/leakdown would be a good following step.
-
Yikes. Looks like it's been beat on. Did it look like that when you put it in? You should do a compression and leakdown test. I can't imagine too many scenarios that don't suck with a spark plug that looks like that.

Pulled my Curt hitch (was scraping on driveways).

Like won't build boost at all or stops at wastegate pressure, like 7psi or so?
-
I also had MAF issues that made the car run like crap, knock, and retard timing. New (not reman) Denso part fixed it.Â
Sounds like you may have a short. Might be the result of a shoddy turbo replacement job: disconnected/damaged vac lines, could have nicked the wiring harness if not run in original locations, etc. I would test the alternator and the battery before diving into tracking down a short, though. A battery that is down to 4.x volts is basically perma-dead and needs to be replaced, no matter how many times you try to charge it.

Did passenger side valve cover gasket/halfmoons and an oil change with the Mazda/Tokyo Roki filters. Fingers crossed for no more leaking oil...

Doing a cross-country road trip in two weeks in the spec.B. Should I be doing this on winter tires or 350tw summer tires?
Â
More or less going to be following I80, but will be making a detour through St. Louis and Kansas City. Once we hit the Rockies, will likely make our way through CO, UT, WY, visiting national parks.

Thanks Pleides, I was going to ask if anybody had a known good link to a denso maf on amazon.

My JDM headlights developed a lot of internal crazing that can't be polished out. Is there any resource for restoring or replacing the lenses?
Â
I don't really want to take a gamble on another set of headlights from overseas just to find out that they're optically subpar.

I was tested yesterday at a local Well Now Urgent Care and my temp was not taken. A semi uncomfortable swabbing of the nasal cavity and I was on my way in less than 10 mins. Testing was due diligence as I was recently at the ER with my mother, whom unfortunately passed away due to cardiac arrest. 2020 officially sucks.

Sorry to hear about that, man. At the least you were able to be with her during that time. Hang in there.

Don't lug the engine and just be smooth. If it feels weird, slow down a little. Stopping distances will be longer so give yourself plenty of space.
Â
You'll be fine, just take it easy and stay aware.

It's just a 2.5i and I'm avoiding city driving and heavy traffic.
Â
Â
Or do you think that it's worse than normal for a 2.5i?
Â
I didn't realize that it was that high.
-
It's a little bit different, but I do get the point.
Â
For everyone who doesn't want to wear a mask: don't. Just don't endanger other people as well. Stay home or keep your distance from other people. Because if you don't and lots of people in your community start getting sick, guess what? You gonna lose that right.
Â
EDIT: How TF are you getting 28mpg??

Installed 3/4" saggy butt spacers w/ extended hardware. I thought it was going to be too tall, but it turns out it was just right. Will snap a pic when I get the chance.
Â
Also installed a 2" hitch and that thing scrapes *everywhere*. Wth.

I flipped the shield, but didn't bother with the levelers. Glad I did.
-
Disable the the DRL, it's a pain in the ass.
-
I would normally do the DP, but I'm afraid of increased NVH. I actually have a DP in storage, from when I was going to go VF52 like... 5 years ago, haha.
-
07 specB, 145k miles, OE turbo, recently resolved my a/f woes thanks to everyone's help.
Â
Quick question about turbo replacement: pre-emptive or wait until there's some indication? VF40 or VF52? I would probably keep the stock DP.

Power steering whine manifested the last couple of days. Going to swap out o-ring and hoses on the pump and hope that does the job.
Ran over a deer carcass a few weeks ago and the gasket between the dp and resonator pipe disintegrated (?). Ordered new gaskets and fasteners -- shop wanted to replace the exhaust from headers to the resonator pipe.
Also ordered new rear strut mounts and spring cushion to try and solve a saggy butt issue and a tiny bit of driver side tire rub.
