  1. Those do have some big tanks. With the 15mpg our Unlimited Rubicon got, it burns through it quick also.

I had a 1988 Grand Wagoneer with a swapped in 401 on 33's and a 30 gallon tank. Now that was big, and got like 11mpg.

I have dropped a bunch of older Acura/Honda tanks and 1920-1979 American Detroit muscles before. This one in this Jeep sits vertical on the passenger side held with 8 bolts and the rear lower arm bolt was in the way. If Jeep was smart they should of notch the tank a bit to clear that lower control bolt.

  2. Hello everyone,

I own a 2013 Legacy 2.5 premium and the engine noise is now more than usual. Actually I've recently purchased this. Is this noise a serious problem?

Any ideas on how to solve this?

How can we give you ideal on what this noise is with no description or type of noise. For example does it sounds like a rattle, grinding, whining, bearing, chirping sound, etc. Do you here it inside the cabin or just in the engine bay, is there a DTC stored?

  3. Are those as much of a maintenance nightmare as we hear?

2005 was the worst year on some of these MB. That's when they switch it from the 5-speed to the 7-speed automatic transmission. I was lucky when I picked mine up without researching. My 2004 CLK500 (M113 5.0L V8) was my most reliable vehicle ever.

The true AMG's are bullet proof except for certain year 63s due to the head bolt stretch issue and I think there was a recall. MB did came out with a new version of the head bolt (different part number). Maybe it was the material that was on the older head bolt's.

As long you know where to get MB parts and you know the right mechanics. There not that expensive and plus there not difficult to work on them either. Just need torx set and some time you need special tools.

  4. Just gonna tease us and not tell the story...?:)

Wife went for training (45min to 1.5hr depends on traffic or a 15 mile drive). she call me and said I have a flat. Packed up my 1 year old son in my 2 door Benz and started to make my way there. The Legacy is parked in a Hotel pay public garage ($7). I pulled in and found the Legacy and park next to it.

Got my air compressor out and started to put air in it. Nothing happen so I decided to use the Legacy jack and to get weight off the rim/tire. I started to put air in it and nothing happen. I decided to slide under the vehicle and that's how I found the inner tire split. I put the spare on (thank god I had my impact gun with me) and drove it back home with my son. My wife took the Benz home after her training.

I took it to the shop (9.5miles) once my wife came home from her training. Got (2) brand new tires install (The other tire had a hole on the sidewall but did not penetrate all the way thru) with an oil change on top. I picked up the Legacy yesterday.

After further investigating. The tire that exploded had a nail in it on top and my wife must of drove it on a flat. The other tire with a hole on the sidewall. Me and my other 2 friends could not figure that one out.

I'm so tired and after work I need to put my dad SUV battery on the charger. That stupid HFL (Hand free Link) is causing the battery drainage. F'ing Johnson control and Acura/Honda's. I'm glad there is a lawsuit going around and I'm not paying $450 for a new module. I unplug it once and my parents got upset with me so I hooked it back up.

  5. Come on at least finish the vehicle if you are going to charge tens of thousands in dealer mark ups and hype. And yes the manufacture can influence dealer marks ups.

Toyota are known for this. Pist me off every time I look for a brand new Toyota. Back in the day I was ready to purchase a brand new T100 long bead, manual transmission 2wd. They advertise it for $10,000 just for the base. A/C was about $2,700 then you have to add power windows, power lock, power steering and brakes, etc. the list goes on.

You have to purchase this package before you can get this options. I have looked at Taundra, Tacoma, 4runners, etc.

Don't get me wrong I love Toyota I had 91 MR2 Turbo in the past and my family own allot of Supra, Corolla, Celica and Cressida in the past. My sister just bought a brand new Camry. My cousin's had a bunch of Supra and 300ZX and now he has a 350Z but he prefer the Nissan Z over the Supra.

I'm trying to get my friend to sell me his AE86 (running) but he won't let it go.

  6. Thank you amusa, I should be able to figure out something from there.

Scubaboo- I'm still looking around at different amps, I'm trying to make sure I understand what each one is capable of before buying. As said previously I'm totally new to this, I've done wiring and just about everything else to a car besides upgrading the audio lol. At some point down the road I would like to upgrade everything to get better mids/highs, and maybe upgrade the HU to get a double din, but I just can't afford that at the moment so I'll take what I can get. I'm not looking to make competition level bass, just more than what the car makes right now. I appreciate everyone's input, anything helps at this point lol

The best advice I can give you. Go to the audio place and listen to the sound quality from each sub/speaker, etc.

  7. Been there and got tired of the weight and Thump.

Your going to need an amp to power the subs. Depends on what type of amp or amp's you have there are multi channels and there are mono amp. For the amp your going to need a remote signal and RCA cables and maybe a converter. How are you going to drive your mid's/high's?

I'm not a fan of MTX, to me this a low budget system.

I had Soundstream, Alpine, JL Audio, Orion, McIntosh, Memphis and Focal in the past.

  8. The pictures we took there don't do it justice, the destruction was massive.

Happen to come across a picture that I took from my Iphone. Did not bother to travel with my DSLR on that trip. This trip was a last minute. I was asked by my mother to go fly to Oregon to check up on my older sister (I used to fly for free at that time on standby).

There was also another view from a restaurant that we ate at. Outdoor seating and a perfect view of the Volcano. I have to ask my sister because I don't remember the location of it.
