A few months ago i bought one of the 10" android units for our cars, The one in the link.
I found it to be rather slow and after checking it with CPU-Z I found that it only had 1gb of ram which was probably the bottle neck. I was able to have this confirmed with one other person who bought this unit as well. Its so bad that they even have a fake specs page that lists the memory at 2gb but with access to the market its not hard to check with CPU-Z. The ram was a factor but also the software was not great, poorly laid out, and the screen was terrible. I watched a few videos on the YouTube app and it looked like it was 8bit colors.
I have an Atoto in my forester, and an Eonon in my Silverado so i know how nice a good unit can be but this wasnt it. So i started searching and came across a manufacturer that was able to make a custom unit that would have a little more grunt. We settled on a unit with a 10.4" HD screen, PX6 Rockchip, 4GB ram, 32GB rom, better tuner, and better amp. This unit also had both FM, and AM radio, Canbus integration, Built in Android auto and apple carplay, and an optional dash cam. Once i got the new unit i installed it and shared my experiences with the fifth gen legacy group on facebook. There seemed to be a fair amount of interest in the unit so i started a group buy to help people interested in something like this avoid navigating through all of the units out there that arent quite up to snuff.
I have a few youtube videos linked at the bottom with comparisons of the 2 that i had and the install experience with the new one. I also have a link to the group buy being facilitated through my website. Depending on interest ill probably let this go for another week before i put the order in. These can be shipped worldwide and they have an option for the RHD members. They can work with the HK audio nav units with a little extra work, mine was HK with nav and there are a few in the group buy that are also.

Do these headers hang down any lower than stock manifolds? I would hate to bottom out on the headers.
-
Catless? How was that? Any issues?

I have a very lightly used set of Ecutek cables for sale if any of you guys are interested.
Did i miss something? Are you no longer a legacy 3.6r owner? Oh and how much lol
-
Which 2 lol
-
Steven is your tuner using ecutek? If so I'd be interested in talking to him about the parameters he changed so that my tuner can take advantage of that this weekend.
I'm using open source, my tuner is throttlehappy by the way.
-
No offense taken. In addition to comparing a tune, we must compare at least the temperature at the time, the grade of the road, and elevation.
There are other factors. I am just stating what I believe are some basic factors.
At the track, in 90 degree weather, the car was running 15. My last run was my fastest at 70 degrees. If it were cooler, the car would have done better.
A comparison should be in similar conditions and at similar elevation.
Your shift from second to third did seem quicker than mine.
You did mention a while back that your tuner was able to alter the shifting?
It was pretty cold that night like around 30. Yes he was able to alter clutch pressure.

I posted a video a couple pages ago that speaks for itself. If i can run 0-100 in 13 flat then I'll at least be a low 14. Comparatively a GT does it in 14.2 stock a 3.6r does it in 14.8 stock, so we are not even close after mods. Also you must consider that we are all using 3 different tuners. I meant no offense by anything i just posted.
-
Only 1 of us has actually ran a 1/4 mile. I'm pretty confident if i remove the spare, my sub, the kids seats, and rear bench I'll break into the 13s. I can hit 100 in about 13 flat with all of that removed.

My car is a brick house, it's mighty mighty and it's letting it all hang out.
-
My gto is a muscle car your car is a grandma's car lol. I've heard it all
-
And more top end, headers are power everywhere.
-
I run a flat 5 sec 0-60 now without headers and 0-100 in 13

My wife just got an AMG GLA45... 0-62 in 4.4, I already tuned it and it is doing 3.2 on pump fuel, 3.2 on E85 as well because it turns tire into smoke until it gets traction
Get me a tune that does that lol. I sent you my latest logs.
-
They are but they say it will be at least 2 months

Raptor just sold their last set of headers yesterday for the 3.6r. Oh well i waited to long.

None of this makes sense. If you have the PCV go to the catch can, where do it go from there, are you venting it into the atmosphere? That's illegal in California. If you're capping the outlet of the catch can instead, the how would vapors get in there? Think of it this way; get a straw and blow into one end with your finger plugging the other end.
As far as the check valve on the breather line; that's exactly what a PCV valve does but instead of going into the manifold post throttle body, the breather goes into the intake before the throttle body. The breather line is supposed to supply air to the crankcase, the PCV vents the vapors out. When the PCV valve is closed, like at idle, some vapors will enter the breather. The manifold creates the vacuum which pulls the air and vapors through the system. Cap it, and no air will circulate and pressure builds up in the crankcase.

Ole Fred wants to be a rebel, he wants to vent the fumes to the atmosphere.
-
I couldn't tell you, if your concern is that the fumes might come back into the intake then your assuming that air moves both ways, i wouldn't want to prevent that.
-
Everything you are talking about has risk but from my understanding and past experiences with other cars you can vent the pcv line to the atmosphere instead of doing the epa forced recirculation. The only reason it goes into the intake manifold is to burn off the fumes that are vented from the pcv valve. California won't like you much if they find out though.
As for the breather line. A friend of mine once got his pinched and not 2 spirited miles down the road he blew a couple seals and has leaked oil ever since.

I assume yall have found Oil residue in the TB and Intake Manifold?
do your catch cans have the Mesh in it to separate Oil from the air? (kinda dumb questions, but I know that I've seen "catch cans" that are literally just metal jugs with "in and out" hoses lol.
Mine was just a metal jug with in and out. I added mesh to it but it's not catching anything. I'm currently hooked up to the breather line and I'm gonna switch to the pcv line to see what that does.
